An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

Or you could go the way of Green Carnations 'Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness' which is just one track at just over an hour. It's a great album too.

I was wondering how you were going to confine this to just 100..

19 : Earth Song

I dislike a lot of songs for a lot of different reasons.

They might to too pompous , too overblown , too preachy , too much of the artists ego , too sappy , bland , over produced , annoying , pretentious , distasteful or many other different reasons.

I can honestly say Earth Song is the only song I have ever heard that I hate for ALL of those reasons , and probably a lot more too.
This isn't an anti-Jackson thing , I think he's made some worthy tunes. But only someone surrounded by yes men in his little bubble for so long could even begin to make something as egotistical as this rubbish. I don't think how ever hard anyone else tries they'll never release an abomination of a song like this. The whole subject matter and the way it's written about just makes me want to throw up. And thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you Jarvis Cocker for showing the sheer ridiculousness and tastelessness of this ego fuelled dirge at the Brit awarRAB and turning the whole performance into the bad joke it was.
To me this is the worst song ever written in my lifetime and I hope I never have to hear something that even begins to approach how awful this song is again.

I totally agree with the grunge one. Like anything there was the occasional good grunge song but basically I hated that stuff when it was new and I continue to hate it to this day.

I understand Alfred's point in the aspect that In Rainbow's doesn't take as much of a risk as other Radiohead albums have, but I definitely don't think it's mediocre. Not they're best, but still a great album.

korn came out of the rejection of any kind of technique or musical validity which was promoted by grunge in a reaction to the over-produced and studio orientated music coming out of the late eighties

it seems to happen a lot the whole technique progressing to a point then being rejected
its gotta happen so we dont end up with banRAB like yes running all over the place
but grunge just did it bad

i agree i like to wear band shirts but only if i like the band....if someone asks me hey so you like so and so i dont want to be a douche and say uuuuuhhhhh not really the shirt just looks cool

Oooo, my first disagreement!

It's no massive secret that a large amount of my love for Primus is based mainly on only a few songs, but hell those songs chug along in a deceptively heavy way, are very infectious and are pretty damn fun. Jerry Was a Racecar Driver, that's how you write a song ladies and gentleman.

I like pretty rough production, where it's a step up from the hardcore punk recordings of the last decade but still feels pretty raw and honest. Steve Albini production is great.
