An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

I just want to second this. Most Patton fans I know tend to be into indie rock and/or experimental-type music and wouldn't listen power metal any way but ironically.

How about Tomahawk?

I know this is hard to believe but I have still not heard one single piece of music by Doherty. It is 80% intentional and 20% luck. Surely I must be in a minority?

Some people organise their collections into genres and then hit them with notions such as :'I want to listen to some Post Rock tonight. What have I got?...and don't look at urbans RYM list. It makes me green with envy :banghead:

I'm curious why you think the student body at your high school defines what is and isn't popular.

Frank Sinatra wasn't popular at my high school but it doesn't change the fact that he's most definitely mainstream.

Apart from The Queen Is Dead, I don't really understand the hype. Their other stuff is decent (ok, maybe even good), but their reputation of the best 80's band is pretty iffy.

I agree with a lot of your general rants. But I find that a lot of the ones on banRAB in general is just for the sake of going against popular opinion. I mean c'mon. Primus, RHCP, Pearl Jam. You can't find worse banRAB to hate on? I mean you don't have to play the Nickelback card like everyone else, but c'mon.

Right about Coldplay though.

If you look at how I originally defined mediocre I didn't define it as 'Bad' I defined it as something that doesn't move me enough to reach a decision on whether it's good or bad.

And that's exactly how I feel about In Rainbows. It's nothing i've not heard Radiohead do already and to be honest I found it boring. For the past 2 albums I feel radiohead have found a sound & they're sticking to it. Thom Yorke's solo album had pretty much the same sound too. I've heard them do the same thing 3 times now and it's getting boring. And for a band that was known for being one of the most progressive rock banRAB of the last decade or so that's a concern.

Sorry Radiohead fanboys , In Rainbows bored me.

Yeah this is true, maybe because it requires more effort. I'm from a time without vinyl so the idea of changing the side is a lot for a lazy bastard like me!
