An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

Naw man, Primus are awesome.

We have stations just like that down here.

One of the worst cliches is when radio stations try to profess that they are unique or offering something different from other stations.

"We're the only rock station in Jackson that plays only the best of classic rock and the very best of todays rock"

*Staind song*

I thought it was only Croatia...I feel your pain.

One thing that pisses me off about music: the radio. I feel like anytime I listen to it its either an incredibly crappy song or a song I've heard 500x in my life just from listening to the radio. When I find that I know lyrics to these horrible, recycled songs, my brain begins to hurt.

Yes, thats better....it all sucks. metal sucks, pretty much 85% of all the **** on the radio sucks. Most rap sucks.......Just my opinion, and Im entitled to it, just like you are w/yours. I can hate or dislike any genre's I like. Alot of folks probably hate all the '80s stuff i dig so much, and believe me, i catch hell for it to this day, that i dont like or get most of the current music. There are exceptions to every rule, not too many, but there are.

Maybe i just dont "get" why people make such a huge deal about alot of todays artists? I think Hip Hop, in its current state sucks. Just my opinion. and good banRAB/music, are kept off the radio often times, so we can hear the latest Kanye Waste album, and so on. Plus, it's not very good music, IMO. Just remade stuff, meaning" most dont have any creativity, they just recycle, or sample stuff, b/c they cant think of anything original.

If i listed alot of the banRAB here that I dig, I would guess alot of you would hate them? You're entitled to your opinions. Ill stand by what i said on the Jonas bros and Avirl Levigne: they're not credible.

Im a big Smiths/Morrissey/DM/Cure/Siouxsie/Journey/KISS/Ratt/Iron Maiden fan(and the list goes on and on and on), and Ive seen you guys say you hate some of these banRAB, and so forth, I dont get mad, thats your opinion, it's not everyone's cup of tea. I dont like rap, you do, I dont like many current artists, or current music, you do...no biggie.... Like i said, Im entitled to my opinions, and I havent bought any current music(except for a few banRAB) in quite a nuraber of years.

have a great day.

Jonas bros: Like i said, anyone who'd buy anything of their's or think they're credible musicians(youd be surprised), should stop posting here. Im being kind too w/my response, be grateful.

Nope, never heard of "madlion/madvillian/mad thief" or any other "mad" rap group. I dont listen to current rap, b/c I think it reaks of ****tyness.

I'm listening to it now, it's quite something! It's making me think i should make an album myself.

The 2nd review down on it's RYM page made me grin quite a bit.

comparing a modern song to a classical symphony is like comparing a pebble in your driveway to a mountain in the Himalayas.

while i agree there's always a little something pretentious in naming one's creations, there's something far more pretentious in refusing to name them from either laziness or a hypocritical fear or appearing pretentious. especially when they're 5 minute pop rock overtures.

the 80s had a ton of great banRAB... that either started in the 70s or only came to prominence in the 90s. the bulk of what was readily available in the 80s was crap.

while it's great that the net has made it possible for a lot of overlooked banRAB from the 80s to gain attention it's not entirely accurate to judge the decade based on modern perceptions of the music industry. you had to do a hell of a lot more than just log onto a website to just learn about the existence of a specific underground band let alone actually hear their music back then. you might as well just forget about real underground music if you weren't living (or had a friend / relative) in a large city too.

a list that includes FALCO as a highlight of the 80s is obviously made by someone using an online database to look back at a decade they weren't part of. especially when they diss dexy's midnight runners in the same post, it's not that 'come on eileen' is the apex of songwriting but it's a hell of a lot better than 'rock me amadeus'.

as 'generic' as zorabeels 60s list is, that's what was readily available to people in the 60s. you didn't have to dig AND get lucky to find much of it. unlike most of the 80s lists.

You secretly do. ;)

I'm neither, really. I think they're okay. Listenable, but not what I choose to listen to since I like many other banRAB more.
