An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

The thing I hate most about music is pretentious musicians and music snobs that criticize musicians and fans.

If you don't like it, don't listen to it or play it. If you like it, play it and listen to it. The end.
 
Does anyone else frequently read that the album they're listening to is a concept album and you had no idea? I think because i'm barely aware of it half the time concept albums don't bother me.
 
very similar to #67's complaint (yet different)... I actually enjoy the Chili peppers new found direction but I also wasn't a big fan of their previous one.

23 : People Who Buy Novelty / Charity / Talent Contest RecorRAB​

The only time I have ever enjoyed a charity record is when Elton John released that version of Candle In The Wind when Diana croaked.
I didn't like the song , as if I would enjoy a load of sentimental garbage like that. The entertainment factor in all of this was watching middle aged women in tears kicking the shit out of each other in shops to buy about 50 copies each.
I've never understood the appeal of charity recorRAB , I don't need some turgid Irish boyband telling me to give money because they've decided to inflict some shitty Billy Joel cover on the world.
Novelty recorRAB are even worse. Shit recorRAB that are meant to be shit for the sake of being shit and making a profit. But there's a part of me that doesn't blame them for doing so. If people are durab enough to want to buy a copy of Maureen from diving school singing (And I use the term loosely) I Like Driving In My Car or some slag from Big Brother making some cheesy euro disco record then fuck it ... take their money. They deserve to be skint for wasting it on shit like this. A woman I work with told me she bought the Crazy Frog record. When I asked her what possessed her to do so she simply replied 'Oh I like the original'.
As for talent show contest winners I see a lot of hate aimed at these people yet I don't understand why. These sorts of artists have been around for years. Talent shows have been a staple of TV since it started and most of these acts disappear after one or two singles anyway. I'd love to hate these people but they fuck off before I even know who they are. So no hatred for these people , just the cunts who think they need to own yet another Simon Cowell puppet doing Unchained Melody.
 
Best thing to do in that situation is to spark up a fag.

I can't stand Geddy's voice either but a lot of people swell over the Cure and his voice has got to be the worst in Rock history. Even Tiny Tim sounRAB better.

Rush starting really sucking in the mid 80's to present.
 
I don't know how anyone could consider In Rainbows mediocre.

I guess since people have such high expectations of the band that anything less than a perfect 10 is "mediocre".

Give them a break, nobody can recreate the same success of that one album over and over again, it's a great album, I hate when people always have to compare a band's album to their previous work instead of just judging the album on it's own.



I'm sorry but what I've heard from The Feelies is just incredibly awful.
 
This doesn't apply to me...I have my soul collection completely separate from everything else and have them organised in alphabetical, company record label order, according to catalogue nuraber. :D

oh my god i don't know how people do that... i find my self turning my phone off for like an hour a day just so i don't have to deal with anybody and I can actually relax
