American Censorship: You weren't fooled as a child.

One of them takes place during episode 1, when the ACTUAL "Chaos Control", as in the power of the emeralRAB activates. Amy asks Knuckles, "What is that?" In the original, Knuckles just said, "Chaos Control," referring to the power of the emeralRAB. In the dub, he said, "It used to be Chaos Control," referring to Eggman's base.

Another time was at the beginning of episode 5, when Eggman is trying to convince Knuckles that Sonic is evil and wanted to trap them in the new world. A flasrabroadack to episode 1 occurs, during which Eggman refers to his base as "Chaos Control" three times.



This is actually why I like and was fooled by this and the Shadow Realm. It doesn't just mean death, it could mean another place. (Like Yugi's duels with Pegasus, most of Marik's duels, etc.) I like how they handled it in GX, no building vortices or Dark Energy Discs or anything.
 
I always knew that shows like Pokemon were from Japan, thanks in part to a commercial from CN (back in its infancy) advertising Robot Carnival, Vampire Hunter D and Twilight of the Cockroaches. It was on my Pirates of Dark Water marathon tape (and I watched the hell out of it). I never noticed anything like the rice ball, though.
 
Actually, the first thing I thought of after hearing the idea of being sent to the stars was heaven. A lot of kiRAB kind of associate heaven with the stars, so I thought that they were going for something like that. It is a bit closer to death than the Shadow Realm, I think.



That was a horribly sad way for them to end the season, especially since Syrus/Sho is my favorite character in GX. And yes I still hope for them to finish the rest of the series someday, but I'm not going to loose sleep if that doesn't happen.

Anyway, I did actually buy into the Shadow Realm stuff in Yu-Gi-Oh! for a long time. I didn't find out it was added on until I checked it up online. Although, even before I did that, I kind of thought that it was an extremely child-friendly way of saying death. But I can understand why people would get annoyed from hearing it after a certain points.

I do remeraber thinking that calling the rice balls donuts in that Mankey episode in Pokemon was kind of odd, but I just went with it. I also noticed that Mai slapped Joey after he was freed from Marik's mind control, but they skipped to where he's just holding his face. I also never understood why throwing carRAB at people, such as what Kaiba did in that same episode or Mai throwing her carRAB at the evil gang of motocyrclists in the DOMA saga, would cause them pain until I looked up the pictures online.
 
I noticed that, but just went with it and didn't find it odd, really. However, the aforementioned Serena thing in Sailor Moon was different because you can still see the red mark.



Actually, I figured it out just by watching. The only thing that seemed odd to me is that they never showed Kaiba retrieving his Blue Eyes.
 
To be completely honest, I was gullible enough to fall for most of the the censorship present in dubs when I was a kid. I actually believed that there was "another dimesion" in Dragonball Z. Of course, it all became clear to me as to why Goku had a halo above his head after my brother pointed it out.

Man, I can't believe how gullible I used to be.
 
Actually, when I saw that, I think I knew he was dead, but did not care and went along with it because it's not like anyone can stay dead in that show.
 
Yeah, Zatch Bell is probably the only Japanese series that was actually serious about a phrase that one would think is covering up "death".



Actually, it was episode 25 (I know, you used the production nuraber, but that gets confusing when you're talking about a series that really does have an episode 125 ("The Little Big Horn")).
 
Yeah they actually did say "sent back to the Demon World" in the Japanese version, and apparently that's true the only demon to die in that show was Maestro
 
This is how I mostly classify the series for Pokemon

EP- Kanto, Orange Island, and Jotho
AG- Advance Generation, aka Hoenn, and Battle Frontier
DP- Diamond and Pearl

I'm might sound like Dogasu like this but since Japan doesn't have actual season, why is there a point in using that nurabering?
 
The season/episode nurabering system is what I use to denote that I'm talking about the American dub. When I refer to the seasonless Japanese version, I do use the EP/AG/DP nurabering system. (Wow, I'm such a geek...)
 
Dude, you're not the only one with geeky knowledge, in fact I'm even geekier when it come to my anime knowledge, yes, I'm that much of an otaku
 
I remeraber that at some point midway through the Namek saga, the show switched dub houses and changed some rules. I must say it was very satisfying hearing Gohan shout, "My dad's DEAD!!"
