Yeah, the trouble with NTSC discs is not only is the resolution lower 480 lines instead of 576 for PAL, as they use the Pulldown method you do get slightly jerky motion more noticeable when panning, as they are repeating certain frames, so they can change 24 FPS to 29.97 FPS, though you do then get the film played at the correct speed and therefore the correct running time, whereas for PAL discs it's a straight transfer frame by frame, but as film is 24 FPS and video 25 FPS we get a slight increase in speed, and therefore the film is over quicker.
