Albums You're Digging II

Got a chance to expand upon my listening urges last night and play something looooonnggg.... namely Mellon Collie by the Pumpkins. Still ranks as my favorite of theirs, by far. Also had a good headphones listen to the bonus disc of In Rainbows. Radiohead make such great music to be listening to on headphones.

This got deleted off my harddrive ages ago but i came across a CDR of it i made so i've had a bit of nostalgia! Really tight indie tunes that remind me of the good ol' slightly angsty days.

It's not the first Pink Floyd album I've heard, as I've heard Wish You Were Here, which I really liked.

Thanks for the reccomendation. That'll be the next Pink Floyd album I download.

"studying" and listening to Windir's Arntor, I'm sorry, but can life get any better? My girlfriend just got some big skullcandy headphones and I've been re-listening to a lot of stuff and it's just absolutely kicking my arse, especially this. It's just so... GOOD.

Cephalic Carnage - Misled by Certainty
These hydro-grinders inflict another bitch-slap against all those death/grind wannabe's. This may not be Celphalic Carnage's best, but other than Napalm Death, no grinder has been as good.

Waitan - Lawless Darkness
Latest from the old school 2nd wave black metal band with playing ability far surpasing the old guard. I particularly enjoy the drumming and guitar work.

Two excellent albums and one very good album there. For some reason Skylarking's never really done a lot for me. If you don't already have Mummer and Nonsuch, you should definitely track those down at some point.

Priest =Aura is one amazing epic of an album... it covers so much ground and does it all so well, lyrically, musically... and then kicks you in the tail end of it with brilliance such as "Chaos"... still one of my all time fave long Church jam outs....

The XX - The XX
My album of the moment, and maybe my contender for album of the year. It's not as gloomy as it initially appears. Every song is an indie-pop gem, full of heart-felt hooks and melodies, great guitar lines, and great electronic beats. And the boy-girl vocals are used to great effect.
