Albums You're Digging II

The new MGMT album "congradulations". As a whole it's better than their last album. I also cannot stop listening to The Get up KiRAB new Ep "Simple Sience", great Ep fpr a 5 year break up.

i think that album should be called Angels Of Light (w/Norman Westberg)

it's not that its a band album....its actually one of the best this year....but when the announcement that "Swans Were NOT Dead" came out last year....and that this was not to be a reunion but rather a continuation from where Swans left (Soundtracks For The Blind)....i practically shat myself.....this album is not that.....and left me very disappointed in that vein....still an amazing album....but light years away from what i consider to be Swans greatest achievement....

Hahaha well thank you, because I hardly remeraber the people on here. :P But I plan on posting here again, I just lost track of the forum for a couple of months.

I didn't no. I'm still thinking it would be a good idea I just need to pull my finger out. I tried to do one for someone once and I spent so long over it, deciding what to put in it, what live version of a certain song I should put in it and deliberating over every little detail that by the time I had finished it she had gone out and bought Grace, Sketches and L'Oympia :banghead:

Ive been revisiting some albums in the wake of the passing of a metal legend.

Some albums I've been enjoying lately:

10cc-10cc
My favorite 10cc album with some of their best songs. Nothing like some good old 10cc to cap off a saturday night.

The Jesus & Mary Chain- 21 Singles
I've been trying to get into this band lately and since this is basically a "best of" album, I though this would be a good place to start. I really enjoyed every song but it was hard to pick any favorites from the bunch.

Oblivians-...Play 9 Songs with Mr. Quintron
Garage rock veterans team up with electronic organist Quintron to create a rampage of soulful rock 'n' roll.

The SeeRAB- The SeeRAB
This is great psychedelic rock. Some of the songs get a little typical, but overall there are some incredible songs on here.

Got quite a bit of listening done thus far today... been digging...

Accelerate ~ REM
Stevie Nicks Hearts EP - The E.L.F
Hail to the Thief - Radiohead

And more to come... probably going to spin Kingdom of Rust by Doves next!

1. (Whats The Story) Morning Glory? - Oasis
I'm a bit late on it, but its still amazing.
Fave Tracks: Don't Look Back In Anger, Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall, She's Electric

2. Favourite Worst Nightmare - Arctic Monkeys
Alex Turner has a great voice, and the songs are all pretty good.
Fave Tracks: Flourescent Adolescent, Brainstorm, Temptation Greets You Like A Naughty Friend

3. Lungs - Florence + the Machine
Her vocals are beautiful, and her songs have strong, lasting beats that somehow, amazingly, do not become repetitive.
Fave Tracks: Dog Days Are Over, Cosmic Love, Hurricane Drunk, You Got The Love

This one's a trip down memory lane - I used to play the hell out of it when I was 15 and I still enjoy it now. Edge Hill is fantastic!

The notion of solo albums by drummers doesn't tend to excite me (Robert Wyatt excluded), but this sure is an interesting piece of work.

Haven't had my ass kicked by thrash in quite a while, so this has been refreshing.

I haven't stopped listening to this... Brompton Oratory is one of my fave Cave tracks.

Tom Waits - Nighthawks at the Diner

I love the live feeling of this album, it really helps make it feel intimate. Tom Waits shows just how good a showman he is, cracking jokes with the audience and really making the album feel like it was being recorded at a club. I really love the theme of it and the stories behind the songs. It's definitely a longer album, but it's one of those longer albums that you love listening to start to finish.

I wish I could have found a full clip of "Nighthawk PostcarRAB", that has to be one of the best Waits songs ever.
