Rosanne Cash - The List

Apparently her Dad Johnny gave her a list of 100 country songs to expand her musical mind when she was a nipper, and this album contains recordings of about a dozen of those songs, including old gems like Girl From the North Country, Silver Wings and Long Black Veil. Pretty good stuff - very melodic.

I like Gus G's (Ozzy) style guitar and Tommy Clufetos on drums, Adam Wakeman on keyboarRAB who is also one of the writers on four songs from the album along with Osbourne and Kevin Churko.

The big difference here is that I'm not boo boo and I'm not a prog head. I think I've listened to more progressive rock in the last two weeks than I have in my entire life, so I don't have that desire to defend a genre I barley know. What I liked about the album is it really showed where Opeth got their progressive influence. Opeth are one of my favourite banRAB so when I can make a connection like that it makes me appreciate what I'm listening to.

If you don't know this album, then where have you been hiding? As well as being a brilliant album to begin with, the legacy edition is a 2 CD and 1 DVD edition. Worthy extras include the much sought after Forget Her and the 13 minute sonic jam of Kanga-roo. Brilliant package.

One of my favorite albums that. Hell of a first song with Never Meant too, personally I find it's the one that really stanRAB out. Once I hear that I can't stop listening till it's over. The whole album's great though.

As Dead As Leaves - No

Fantastic whatever this would be considered. I've had it for a while and didn't listen to it before this. Very simple repetitive music, definitely not for everyone, but quite the enjoyable listen while I was busy cleaning my room this afternoon.

The For Carnation - The For Carnation

The For Carnation managed to a craft a damn good album here. The music is very simple and repeats a lot (guess I was in the mood for that today) but when the guitar comes in out of absolutely no where, you realize just how perfect it is, and the time they must have spent putting everything together at just the right time.

Babes in Toyland - Fontanelle
I dug this album out today and gave it a few listens. Man i love Kat Bjelland's voice on this, she's one of the best female grunge/punk vocalists ever.
