Albums You're Digging II

Weird, I'm on the same boat as sidewinder. I appreciate and love The Real Thing and Angeldust, but I always put in this one instead. It's grown a beard on me.

Anyway, I can't stop listening to Black Mountain. I know you guys are probably tired of hearing me rant about it, so here, just listen if you've never heard:

Was offered up as jazz-pop from the NetherlanRAB, so I took the garable. While poppier than I'd hoped, the jazz is there and is implemented brilliantly. There's also some good lyrics here, despite there being a fair share songs about the standard relationship bullsh‎it.

I went in hoping for something that would sound like late-80's Steely Dan, and while that's not exactly what I got I was pleasantly surprised with an all-in-all damn fine album that I recommend to anyone interested.

I hate the song Ride. I take it from your post it would be worth my time to check out The Vines, I knew I was missing something. That's a really bad song to be honest...

Genius stuff.

They might not be very original but when you can write songs as good as these it doesn't matter one bit. A really great album full of memorable tunes.

I'm really getting into Polvo lately. This album has some genius arrangements, plenty of killer riRAB and outstanding musicianship. Excellent.

While this is true, Begin Here is pretty damn good. It has a much different feel than Odessey and Oracle, but there are some great tracks on there.

The new Frightened Rabbit leaked, and Midnight Organ Flight is one of my favorite albums, I may even say this is a step up from their first album.

I went for Trust, second track in. Thanks :D but I'm listening to them on Spotify so I won't need a link, unless I decide I really like and then I'll get some of his stuff into my iTunes.

(Brand New - The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me, in case you were living under a rock a few years ago)

This is such a fall/early winter album its kind of ridiculous, right down to the cover. I find I rarely listen to it March-August, but I've busted it out about this time of year three years running now.
