Albums You're Digging II

Alice in Chains - Facelift

I still believe this is, by far, their greatest album. Considering this is their debut, I'm not surprised. That pattern suits me.

Mastodon's new one, Crack the Skye has got me pretty hooked at the moment.
I had been listening to Rain Dogs and Real Gone, both by Tom Waits, before that.
An old stand-by, Mr. Bungle's California
Grails' Doomsdayer's Holiday
Dead Kennedys' Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables
And earlier than all of these, I finally started developing an ear for Sleepytime Gorilla Museum's In Glorious Times.

I heard this last year and didn't think that much of it, but I'm really digging it right now. Not really a big Math Rock fan or anything, but this album is pretty awesome. my favourite songs are "Caramel" and "Little Bubble, Where Are You Going?". Not something that would make it's way into my daily rotation, but it has really pretty guitar work and it sort of suits what I'm in the mood for at the moment.

A mix CD designed specifically for post-apocalyptic driving. Cruising down rainy streets in full body armor in your armored vehicle with your sub-machine gun strapped across your chest. :ar_15s:

Honestly though, it doesn't sound bad even if you're just sitting in front of your desk drinking coffee.

^The shotgun c0cking at 2:11, right before the second drop in this song, makes me wanna start a moshpit in my living room.

Smashing Pumpkins - Adore

This ablum has been out of my personal rotation for awhile, but For Martha came across my Pandora station recently and I remerabered how good this album is. There's no point in debating which is their best, but Adore is my favorite.

CunninLynguists- Dirty Acres

Quickly becoming one of my favorite rap albums I've ever heard, the production is outstanding, the flow from all three merabers fantastic, the corabination of rock, blues, country and rap with the beats and production is just something I've never heard before, very enjoyable work, now to go back to their discography and get their earlier works.

I guess I interpreted Rickenbocker's comment as saying this album was more overtly sexual than the others, which is why I failed to see it. I wasn't really paying attention the lyrics anyway.

Cane and Able - S/T
Man, this is some great funky stuff from France. Although half of it is actually covers, this is how imo, funkadelic's Maggot brain should have sounded like (save for the title track alone). They do this psychedelic guitar-effects funky sort of thing quite well. It's a bit sloppy at times, but that's actually a good thing. Only downside being the audio quality :(. But hey, those killer horns make up for it :thurab:.

I'm digging the shit out of Night Music by Etienne Jaumet
Etienne-Jaumet-Night-Music_header_image_review.jpg

He's the synth guy in Zorabie Zorabie and this solo album is some kind of dark experimental version of 90s dance music.

The instructions in the OP specifically ask that people write something about the album. If you can't at least write the name of the album, just don't post in the thread.

It wasn't serious, I made a simple request in a lighthearted way, but your response was acting like a dick. Knock it off.

I love The Church incredibly, I'm surprised you hadn't gotten into them earlier! If you need any more links I've just about got every album.

Heh I think that may have been a bit before my time. I'm pretty sure they're my favorite math rock band though. One more I thought of that deserves a mention here:

Highly, highly recommended to anyone that likes Madlib or reggae and hip hop. Or that likes to smoke up once in a while. I had nearly forgotten about this album over the past couple years since I quit smoking and all and it was lost when my drive crashed, but oddly my roommate was listening to a song and I had to have it back immediately.
