Albums You Hate By Bands You Love

... i think i just threw up a little in my mouth. no offense to you, of course. but my secret wish is to rearrange his internal organs hehehe *evil smile*

OH and as far as an album i hate by a band i love.... NIN - With Teeth totally worthless piece of shit

I always saw it as a messy attempt at some kind of Psychedelia that was only half-successful, with a lot of problems within the band only adding onto the result, but I can hear why people don't like it. Maybe it's me and my appeal towarRAB messed-up albums (which this clearly is), but I still listen to it more than their albums after The Head on the Door. "Birdmad Girl," "The Caterpillar," "Shake Dog Shake," and "Bananafishbones" are alright, but the rest should have been shoved to the B-Sides...or maybe the out-take bin.

NYC is a cousin album to Bad Moon Rising. It's not brilliant, but it's good enough.

Rather Ripped is not the 80s/early 90s Sonic Youth I love. Fairly lifeless in comparison to Daydream Nation.

haha why didn't I think of this the last time I saw this topic?

Hate might be a tad strong, but this album is so very passable, that the amount of praise it gets from AnCo fans (that claim it to be some sort of 'bridge' between their pop and experimental side) is laughable. It's not experimental, it's not good, it's forgettable and undeserving.

:( I can definitely see where you're coming from, though. Right from the first track, Waits plays it really low-key and almost inoffensively. The vocals kind of save it for me though; I've never heard Tom whimper quite as well as he does on the title track, though I'll admit "Kommienezuspadt" is sort of rubbishy.

I think Faust Arp is a very strong track and Bodysnatchers ain't bad either.

If there's any song I think In Rainbows could have done without it would be Videotape, they could have gotten a better closer than that, it sounRAB like leftover Karma Police.

I think they should have added Down is the New Up instead. And they should have made Nude the closer.

Lol, british cuisine.

Let's see:

Lead Sails Paper Anchor - Atreyu
They went in a softer direction.

Steal This Album! - SOAD
I need an explanation?

All Rainbow releases after Dio left

All Rush releases after 1982 (no I haven't heard them all, but I've heard at least one track off each and I am not impressed)

The Great Southern Trendkill - Pantera (I don't really HATE it, but it's so sub-par for them)

Pixies - Trompe Le Monde
The sound of the Pixies creative genius going down the drain. Songs like U-Mass and Sad Punk just dont do anything for me.

Dinosaur Jr - Beyond
A pointless comeback album. Pale in comparison to their early albums.

AFI - Deceraberunderground
Put the final nail in the AFI coffin for me.

Metallica - Load/Reload/St. Anger
I dont think i need to explain

Biffy Clyro - Puzzle
Not sure whether it was major label intervention or the band have their sights set on commercial gain, but their last album was a typical bland and over-polished mainstream record. The skewed genius of their first 3 albums was buried under.

you people overreact like bollocks. the album really isn't a big departure, they've been getting more and more accessible (read: Caleb can actually sing now). their last was just more polished than earlier works, what a big fuck.

at least you didn't call them sellouts like all the other idiots out there.
