Albums You Hate By Bands You Love

I know I say this alot, but...

Really, WHAT THE FUCK happened?
I was hoping that they'd go back to their hardcore roots, but I recently heard the single for the new upcoming album. Looks like it's gonna be more

.

May as well do some more while i'm here...

Crass - Penis Envy
Boring feminist claptrap that makes me want to beat up women every time Eve Libertine opens her f*cking mouth.

Bad Brains - I Against I
Some fantastic songs totally ruined by a production more suited to one of those mid 80s guitar shredder wankathon albums. Listen to the material from this album on 'The Youth Are Getting Restless' live album instead and you'll see how great this album could have been.

Thin Lizzy - Renegade
Of the two great songs on this album (Angel Of Death & the title track) they, and the rest of this album are ruined by layers & layers of a synth that sounRAB like a cheap casio keyboard.

Green Day's Insomniac. I dunno why, I just don't like it the much.

Treble Charger's Detox. I liked it, but it all sounRAB the same and it gets really boring really quickly.

Can't think of anymore right now..

How could I forget about this one. I'm a huge Lou Reed fan but this was terrible. When I first started getting into the Velvets and Reed's solo music, people kept telling me to avoid this one.

Agreed.

Let's see, Ive always hated all the post-SMiLE Beach Boys material, despite it's minor cult following who swears that it's just as good.

Zappa's 'Cruising with Reuben and the Jets' is dull as turRAB.

'Tommy' from The Who is disgustingly pretentious, and has WAY too much filler.

I just read this whole thread and though I'd register to add some...

Beach Boys - Wild Honey
I don't agree all their post-Smile stuff is bad like a few people have said. I really like FrienRAB, Sunflower, and half of Surf's Up, but Wild Honey is just lame. a bunch of derivative(sp?) folk/rock songs that sound like they could've been done by anyone.

A Tribe Called quest - The Love Movement
weak and lost all the flavour they had on Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders. sound like they can't be bothered!

AC/DC - Blow Up Your Video
the songs arent that bad but production is awful. band sounRAB like they're playing from the opposite end of a long echo-y tunnel, and it ruins the album.

Royal Trux - Twin Infinitives
great band, but not this album in any way IMO, despite some people saying it's their best! I don't get it...maybe I don't do enough drugs?

The Vines - Vision Valley
I really liked Highly Evolved and thought they would be the next Nirvana, but this one only had one decent tune. They should be remerabered for Highly Evolved though, classic album.

just some of my opinions...

I'm a pretty big Leonard Cohen fan but his 2001 album Ten New Songs was just awful. The thing that made it worse was the fact that I had been waiting for nine years for him to put out a new album and when he finally did it was this muzak-sounding crapfest. In retrospect, I guess the atrocious album cover design should've been a tip-off that the album sucked.

You kidding? Listen to the drumming, it's nuts.

You're focusing too much on the vocals and it's preventing you from enjoying the album as it should be enjoyed.
