Obama by himself created the stimulus with no congressional approval.

I hear ya, and that $100k was pretty much just the worth of his ranch, not what he had in the bank.
 
Any republican government would have done an equivalent stimulus, they might have directed it a little differently because of their differing controlling interests, but it would have been structurally similar.
 
What may be obvious to you is not necessarily anything of substance or relevance. You can be a mentally handicapped, raving lunatic and still have things be "obvious" to you.
 
Defense, roads, security, law and order, communications networks, large national things that serve everyone.

The government should be thought of as the business that does those things in a political science sense. Since it's so big it direct bills us all for its services.

Really the only thing that makes it a special case is that because it has all the guns and power of physical force, it has to be held to special rules through contractual obligation with the people, and it can exert unlimited power unless that contract is held to.
 
The Government is too busy thinking of ways to take our hard earned money from us rather than serve us.
 
And this isn't about Democrat/Republican, the same things apply both ways, both in terms of the dumb arguments their supporters make, and in terms of how they act internally.
