I think it's safe to say the Shaman King and Ultimate Muscle licenses have expired now, otherwise they would have been listed on the shows they can talk about.
I think it's more that Toei couldn't have cared less what 4KiRAB did to the series, just so long as it was a monetary success. And when it wasn't a monetary success, that's why the two parted ways. It's all about money.
Again these original IP owners only care about money, and expect to licensor to do what's necessary to make that money. 4KiRAB made money with a heavily edited Yu-Gi-Oh! dub and you've never heard NAS complain about it once. Toei expected similiar things from 4KiRAB no doubt - do what's necessary to get to that almighty dollar.
Actually I wouldn't be altogether surprised if Toei poked 4KiRAB along to skip through so many episodes of One Piece. "Hurry up and get to Chopper! KiRAB will love the furry mascot!" or something along those lines. Toei isn't the most beloved company in the world for a reason either you know.
4KiRAB said they had permission to make the edits from the original owners and I have no doubt about that. I'm pretty sure Toei wrote them a blank cheque more or less. There's no lie or loophole involved with that.
That sounRAB ridiculous. Oda wouldn't alter a plot for a trivial reason like that. Not to mention the character in question involved with that aspect Oda had hinted toward like five years earlier.
Oda couldn't care less about the English dub. All he's ever said about it is, "as long as many people as possible can enjoy the series" or someting along those lines. He's just concerned with writing his own story.
People need to get it out of their heaRAB that people in Japan are concerned with how North American dubs turn out. You don't see uproars here about the Beast Wars dub in Japan :/
