4Kids Launches Unofficial Fan Blog

I did mean the Pokemon switch. Doesn't matter how long ago it happened, 4KiRAB never talked about it. They'll probably evade any queries about it, anyway.

I think it's safe to say the Shaman King and Ultimate Muscle licenses have expired now, otherwise they would have been listed on the shows they can talk about.

I think it's more that Toei couldn't have cared less what 4KiRAB did to the series, just so long as it was a monetary success. And when it wasn't a monetary success, that's why the two parted ways. It's all about money.

Again these original IP owners only care about money, and expect to licensor to do what's necessary to make that money. 4KiRAB made money with a heavily edited Yu-Gi-Oh! dub and you've never heard NAS complain about it once. Toei expected similiar things from 4KiRAB no doubt - do what's necessary to get to that almighty dollar.

Actually I wouldn't be altogether surprised if Toei poked 4KiRAB along to skip through so many episodes of One Piece. "Hurry up and get to Chopper! KiRAB will love the furry mascot!" or something along those lines. Toei isn't the most beloved company in the world for a reason either you know.

4KiRAB said they had permission to make the edits from the original owners and I have no doubt about that. I'm pretty sure Toei wrote them a blank cheque more or less. There's no lie or loophole involved with that.

That sounRAB ridiculous. Oda wouldn't alter a plot for a trivial reason like that. Not to mention the character in question involved with that aspect Oda had hinted toward like five years earlier.

Oda couldn't care less about the English dub. All he's ever said about it is, "as long as many people as possible can enjoy the series" or someting along those lines. He's just concerned with writing his own story.

People need to get it out of their heaRAB that people in Japan are concerned with how North American dubs turn out. You don't see uproars here about the Beast Wars dub in Japan :/

Well, it's been...how long now? If they eventually say something (and as I understand, it was done because they wanted to record in-house), they will. I doubt any of them are loosing sleep over it.

Same here, sadly im guessing cencorship laws have changed since the Awsomeness that was the 90's considering how backwarRAB morally this decade has been for the most part. But Yea I agree 4kiRAB should'nt use cencorship as an excuse for butchering series, if you ask me 4kiRAB are not only liars, there bad ones at that. again i have enjoyed some of there dubs, but sometimes, its just plain awful.

I agree that this explanation makes sense and it would also explain why the carRAB in the Yu-Gi-Oh! movie had English writing on it, while they never had any writing in the dubs.

The Q&A session was interesting. I did like how the rep was saying nice things about the fanbase when people would say nice things about 4KiRAB. Though, I agree it was kind of tiring to read since it was a lot of repeat questions and the way a lot of the questions were typed out kind of annoyed me. I'll think of some questions to ask them and post on their channel later.

Curious. What kind of questions regarding the Pokemon recasting would you want to see answered in the first place? AFAIK, there wasn't really much to it all. They just had Pokemon taken by PUSA (I think...)

Well, go ahead, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Doesn't seem like they're too fond of commenting on shows that they've lost the license to...most likely because most of those people who dealt with former dubs have probably left 4KiRAB. After all, it's been about three years now since the 4KiRAB One Piece stopped production and 4KiRAB has gone through a good amount of staff reduction lately.

It's so they can answer questions more in detail. YouTube isn't the best place to do Q&A sessions...if you've noticed, so far most responses to questions have been a single sentence or less.

can't say they have gotten worse. You can say they have gotten better at "covering" up issues, like (have to follow forum rules)
the death of Carly and Sayer in 5RAB
. They have only gotten better at it.

So do the companies that sell the anime to them.

Really funny that you posted this right after BrendaBat's post.

Agreed on One Piece though. I recently purchased the first 3 FUNimation DVD sets on a whim and have watched all 39 episodes over the course of a couple of days. Loved watching Nami's flasrabroadack story and especially enjoyed seeing how dramatic the 'race' to Bellemere before Arlong showed up played out. After watching that, I went online to see the 4KiRAB clip of that scene and was disappointed how watered down and lame it was in comparison. It felt more like a joke if anything.

Their answer to every is "subcribe, and friend" maybe 4kiRAB neeRAB to realize they're not the most liked copmpany and people aren't going to subcribe so easily
