how can you bring a fish back to life?

Witchcraft but I wouldn't travel down that path. Just go get a new fish. This time buy a water conditioner to put in the water before the fish and acclimate him properly to his new tank.

Do all gold fish grow large?

A 20 gallon tank is only suitable for 1 adult fancy goldfish. Common goldfish aka feeders grow the largest and can get over 1 foot in length. At this stage ponds are the only suitable home. Fancies will get anywhere from 6-12". Common myth is that goldfish will grow to the size of their tank...

Is it possible for a gold fish to eat other fish in the tank?

Absolutely. This is one of the main reasons why Goldfish are not recommended tank mates for cold water minnows and other small fish. I was convinced I could keep White Clouds in my goldie tank until I started reading stories about people who bought a whole school of white clouds only to wake up...

Can I add these fish to my existing tank?

Forget the Betta and Goldfish. Goldfish are not tropical and your water temp would cause them problems. Betta's are aggressive. Careful with the shrimp, many fish will consider them food. Get what you want but some of those species are entirely incompatible. Here's a chart you can follow...

plecos are not small. They start small but get upwards of 6 inches I believe.

Why do people diss fish bowls? It is possible to make a fish live in a fish bowl!...

It's possible to make you live in an unheated closet too right? I tried the 1 gallon crapolas. Never had a betta last more than 2 years and fought numersou illnesses in that time. I had 2 goldfish in a 10 gallon tank for the same amount of time and neither of them got sick once.(the tank has a...

How do I keep a fish alive, without a trip to the store? Is there a common plant...

Is it a betta? Because they don't need oxygen in the water. They can get air from the surface because they have a lung chamber. However if you put a betta in a vase I don't give it more than a year to live. No heater + no filtration = no healthy fish.

Whats wrong with my feeder fish?

Are you changing the water in the bowl? Does the bowl have a bubbler in it? Bowls don't allow for good gas exchange and without a filter waste products can build quickly creating a toxic environment.

I have a new tank with new fish in it. Its still cloudy because of conditioning.?

You are having a bacterial bloom because your tank is starting to cycle. You need a test kit to test for Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate to know when the cycle is complete. 4-8 weeks although the cloudy water will dissipate once the bacteria settles onto the surfaces of objects.

How long should i wait till i introduce first fish?

were the plants, rocks, and filter kept wet? if not the bacteria has died and you will still need to cycle the tank. White Clouds are a good choice to cycle with. Get a test kit and read the link below to learn about cycling a new tank. Start with a few minnow then increase your stock slowly...

What inverts or fish do I need to have in my fish tank to really clean it?

shrimp, crabs, crayfish are all scavengers and will readily clean up any left over food particles. Snails will eat your algae but produce as much waste as fish. Plecos get big and regular algae eaters will keep the glass clean but are still fish and still pee and poop. Live plants will help...

should i get a gold fish?

I think it's a great idea............. As long as you don't plan on keeping any fish in the tank with him other than goldfish. As long as you plan on having a tank size suitable enough for him. 20+ gal for just 1 fish. Absolutely no mini-tanks or bowls. As long as you don't mind have the...

    Good Deal for fish tank?

Fantastic bargain. The money you spend on a new cover will be nothing compared to the cost of that setup brand new. I'd also recommend VERY slowly filling the tank, checking for leaks. If it leaks, strip all the silicone and reseal the tank. I just did a 55 gallon and was WAY easier than I...

I have a betta fish and im wondering if he has fin rot?

No its not fin rot, he's being ATTACKED! Seriously you answered your own question. Fin rot is caused by poor water conditions and bacteria. You have a seperate problem all together, you have fin nippers. Seperate the betta and get some Melafix.

What should I do with my fish while I clean my fishtank?

a plastic bucket works well, use water from the tank else you'll cause them to go into pH shock. And you should scrub the bucket with pure ammonia, or muric acid, or vinegar REALLY REALLY good then label it fish bucket and never use it for anything but fish water again.
