    It could be your starter...but that would have nothing to do with your car shutting off. The starter is used only to crank the engine before it is able to sustain power on it's own. You're fuel pump could be going out..that's another possibility..but normally when they fail...they completely fail.

    For it's age it is not a high mileage vehicle. It just depends on how well taken care of it was. Be prepared for multiple repairs needing to be done as this happens with most aged vehicles.
