Honestly, I would be highly surprised if RHCP didn't make it into the HOF and I would be appalled if those decisions were based on the tail end of their discography. Their first 4-5 albums were fantastic and I think most people would be hard pressed not to find something they like there...

I think music translates across any language barrier when it comes to melodies, rhythms, etc. However, it's always good to know what lyrics you are listening to at times. hehe I like listening to japanese, french, and spanish music where I may know half of the song.

Pop music does get a lot of crap but there are some good non commercial pop banRAB. The Vaselines, Pavement, and most recently MGMT.
