    5 feeds from a 4 outlet switch?

You need an SW44-A inaddition to the SW-44. You don't need the existing switch anymore. You connect the SW-44A inputs directly to the dish, and the SW-44 to the passthrough outputs on the SW-44A.

Couple charged for possession/selling illegal Bell Sat equipment.

In a nutshell, they are depriving the provider and/or the channels of revenue. As for why they let the police in, well, many TV piras don't know, or refuse to belive they are pirating or doing anything illegal, and might even believe what they do is just a matter of course, or something right.

Have you received a new Smart Card from Bell?

Not for legitimate purposes. Bell wants them destroyed so they don't get into the hands of TV pirates. And who do you think was paying$%250 for an officially "obsolete" smartcard, and what were they going to use it for?

    Check Switch Without Remote

A good One For All remote has the keys you need. It will have the Menu button, which brings you to the menu screen, which you can navigate with the numers or the direction/OK buttons. All my OneForAll remotes control my old 3000 the way I needd.

Looking into the Bell's future through dishnetwork

Control and costs. Control, in that they have only one or two contract manufacturers in line, and can decide what features to include or not, and work with the manufacturer to keep costs down. Costs, in that they have to develop firmware for fewer units, as well as support them. And it is...

    PPV ordering with multiple receivers

The call itself you make to order the PPV will appear on the bill. It will cause the receivers on your account to open the channel for the event. It will not trigger an order on each receiver on your account. There is an extra fee for the phone order.

Looking into the Bell's future through dishnetwork

If it were me, I'd do no more Nagra, no more ST chips in the IRDs. DN would be on their own. I'd go with a Motorola DCII based system, on the condition that our IRDs and SCs could be cross authorised. Or use some soft-CAM system suitqable for the ST5518, that has not yet been hacked, such as...

    ExpressVu and Tivo

TiVo will work with ExpressVu although it might get cranky. It doesn't matter if you get a single tuner or the DT model, for the purposes of connecting to satellite they are the same. The extra tuner on the DT only works with analogue cable.

    BELL receiver at cottage

As said, they will call you you read numbers from receiver screens. Starchoice, to date, doesn't do that, and from what I see on their known screens, there is no analog to the Location ID on Bell receivers. I have only one Starchoice receiver actively connected to a phone line, and all that are...

    # of Receivers

It is not tuners, it is smarcards/receivers (AKA access devices) activated on the account which counts. Last I heard, dual tuners use one acess device for both tuners.

Looking into the Bell's future through dishnetwork

Who actually manufactures it doesn't matter, it is who markets the hardware to the consumer. FWIW, JVC at least used to manufacture Echostar receivers, and recently I think RCA did some also. But they will try (sometimes rightfully) to pass the buck onto the other guy. Yes, DVB can be...

Satellite Piracy in Canada and U.S. in 2010

Some things: First, a pirate site getting Bell and Rogers ads is not strange. It is the 3rd party ad service providing the ads, and the site usually has no control of the ads. I saw this on a few legitimate satellite TV forums in the heyday of FTA piracy, where they would regularily get ads...

Looking into the Bell's future through dishnetwork

There is, just the US (and by extension Canadian) market doesn't recognize it, nor the regulators require or enforce it.

Anyone know how to get Wiring Harness for a (Audiovox) Advent AMM10M CD/DVD player?

Get it from the manufacturer. If it is a relatively recent unit, there is a chance that it will use the standard connector many major brand decks are now using. Check an installer to see if they have spares around.

alternate power cord for panasonic SA-EN7?13v 1.5A?

From the looks of the manual, it uses a brick type 12V supply, likely 2 or 3 amp. Maplins and such will have a compatible one.
