Hi

I need to run a check switch on my 3100 but I do not have the original remote. At the moment I am using an One For All remote but don`t know how to get into the 3100 menu.

Any ideas

You should be able to get to the menu from the front panel and then go to the system setup/installation screen and run a check switch from there. I am not in front of my system right now, so if anyone else can help, that'd be great. Otherwise, I'll check later this afternoon and let you know.

The 3100 only has "Power", "Up" & "Down" buttons, so there is no way to get to do the Check Switch from the front Panel, that I am aware of.

If you have another Bell remote, just change its' address to access to 3100's Menu.

Thanks, Pinza... I find it hard to believe that the 3100 doesn't have a menu button on the front... but if so, I stand corrected... haven't dusted it off in a while.... :p

It doesn't have any buttons other than power. Hence the reason I asked... :)

I do have a 6100 can I use it even though its RF?

A good One For All remote has the keys you need. It will have the Menu button, which brings you to the menu screen, which you can navigate with the numers or the direction/OK buttons.

All my OneForAll remotes control my old 3000 the way I needd.

The 3100 should also have UP & DOWN buttons, mine has.

Yes you can use the 6100 remote, just pull the Smart Card on the 3100 to see what the Remote Address is, then set the 6100 Remote to that address.

I found my 3100 remote but for some reason I can not get the SAT button to light up. I assume corrosion... The other buttons work fine.

Is there a way to program the TV VCR or AUX buttons for SAT?

I think you can, hold AUX until all lights light up, press 00 to represent the sat receiver, then press the desired remote code, press # then record. take for example you want to address using remote address 1.

HOLD AUX, until all lights light up
PRESS 001
#
RECORD

Yes, the AUX button on DishPro remotes can be programmed to control the 3100. Use codes 001 through 015, depending the 3100's IR address.
