    What is "indie" photography?

I've looked at a few indie photography groups and blogs and I don't get it. Most of what I see would have previously been culled and classified as rejects. I don't believe you need to follow any rules for composition or even exposure if the end result is pleasing, but the only thing unifying...

How come Canon Nikon and Sony NEX lenses are big while Panasonic and Leica...

There is more room inside a Leica, because there is no mirror in the way. In the Sony with "no flipping mirror" (the funniest thing I've read here in a month) there is still a mirror. It's just a "see through" design so it doesn't have to flip. Anyhow, it has the same amount of room inside as...

    Photography coursework help: DPI/PPI?

I just did a search on "photo resolution" and found a couple hundred articles that you might read. Try it. The wiki article would give you a good outline to start with.

thanks for answers ealier but dont know whether to buy canon g10 or canon...

I just answered your other question, so I won't say much here. The 12MP point and shoot that I have in those comparisons has the same sensor size as the G10 and the image quality is similar. If you want to enlarge your pictures to anything more than 11x14 without very much cropping, you will...

Wedding Photography - Journalistic or Traditional Style?

When you hire a wedding photographer, would you rather have a journalistic style where the photographer just tries to capture the events as they unfold with a minimal amount of direction or would you rather have a traditional style where almost every photo is arranged by the photographer?

How can I crop a picture to be 700 pixels by 300 pixels at 72 ppi?

I don't know JASC, but it's fairly powerful. In Photoshop, when you open the crop tool, you can specify exactly that - 700px x 300px @ 72ppi - if that's what you want. Look for windows to input this info in JASC.

What is the best 1 hr Photo Lab when it comes to quality? Walgreens, Costco,...

Each store has its own machine and its own staff to clean, maintain, and operate the machine. There are so many variables that you can't say whether Costco is better than Target, because one Costco might be great and another might be not so great. You will have to try the various stores in...

    Good camera for photography?

Nikon D90 with the 18-105 lens might be attainable for that money. Or, a Canon T1i, or whatever they call that model in your country.
