Pop culture references are fine as long as the story isn't compromised. Some of the Looney Tunes cartoons (not a movie example, but still) are chock full of references, but they're still funny. In a way, references show that a movie is a product of its time, but too many references and the movie...

I heard that Merry Madagascar will break the record for the earliest premiere of a Christmas special. I too hope that this is better than Shrek the Halls. That just sucked, but I don't find Shrek entertaining anymore, so that could be just me.

Theoretically the Palm TX can be used as a wifi phone, by using VOIP software that would support a bluetooth headset. Does any software exist that enables that to happen? UPDATE: Answering my own question -- Articulation. Caveat: microphone cannot be bluetooth, must be a wired mic.
