Your Wants for Future S60 Versions

there is an autolock that is a free app... imho, nokia has to balance their act, they want to give as many free apps as they can, but then they have also to consider the works of 3rd party developers, they dont want to antogonize them... kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place...

That makes no sense. We dont need keylock from 3rd party developers - that is an obvious thing which must be in the OS - we need the 3rd party gius to make value added applications, something which it seems many of them DONT want to do on S60 3rd.

I mean, take an app like Pocket Informant on Windows \Mobile. Fantastic program. Papyrus and Acquacalendar on S60 do not come close. There are tons of dictionaries, maps and even weather apps which not well done on S60 3rd. Why dont the 3rd party folks go for these targets.

Its pathetic the way these 3rd party guys try to leech money from S60 3rd users for nothing. I was considering weather app for my E50 the other day and Handy Weather wants $15 for some thing that is basically the same as mweather (which is free!). Basically all it has more is a screensaver and 5 days instead of 2. This is worth $5 to be honest. Thes eguys would have far less problems with piracy if they charged less for small apps, get users in the habit of buying - and spent time to make high value added apps that users will pay more for.

So please spare me the stuff about not annoying S60 3rd application makers. Those guys are doing practically nothing anyway.

More wishes, sorry if this is possible bump.

- Blacklist for sms
Hell, I just got 4 ads sms today. They're really annoying. -.-

- More numpad key uses for Web Browser
I'm suggesting 6 for forward (as 3 is for back), 4 for stop/reload dependin on whether the page is loading or not, and 7 for history.

- Currency Updates in the Converter app using EDGE/GPRS

- Built-in dictionary would be lovely, or maybe that's a bit far-fetched? :/

i dont mean to annoy you, but that is up to nokia, not between you and me...

and i would rather have as many developers as possible, even if what they are doing are rubbish to some, at least they dont force it to anyone and its basically up to you to try their apps (most apps are free to tyr anyway) and if you like it, go and get it, if you dont you can always throw it away... but at least we should give it to them for doing something...

That's another feature that would be nice with newer S60's.....dual bluetooth. How nice would it be to compose text messages and emails from your su-8w and N95 connected to a TV, then recieve a call with a bluetooth headset. Meanwhile the phone is across the room and your using a huge screen to control everything.

having to custom set a currency converter really smushes my potato chips.

this may be more of a hardware issue but on the e61/62 the "own" key could be better, having to hold a shift key then the own key really fries my bacon.

also, there should be an app biult in, on the home screen, that will give me a reason to use a home-spun expression of anger, and provide me with one. not having this feature really crumbles my cookie!

^BT does multiple connection... i can connect my E61 to my PC and still have the headset on and still connect my 6230 and 5500... in paper it does 8 simultaneous connections...

well currency rates change everyday...unless u can connect to wap to have the rates updated (or if your provider supports that feature..maybe?)...there is really no way to get around it~

I know that Fossil watch that SE released is able to connect to the phone and the Headset so maybe there is hope.

God I hope your right. I'm going to check it out right now with my n80, su8w, and bh800...I pray it works

Give them what? It is money they want, so they better add some value or they will find very few buyers. And at the moment, their output is of very little value IMO.
