Your Top 10 METAL Bands

Down is blues? Wtf. I can see how some of their stuff has a kinda bluesy feel to it, but to actually say they are blues... Idk maybe it's just a matter of perspective or something like that. I get what you're saying with Sabbath and GNR tho.

really? i seen them once and thought they were pretty good. they did a great cover of master of puppets too. their new cd shogun is pretty good and if they tour near where i live i'd go see them again.

A nice smattering of different styles. There are so many to choose from though. I mean, I could fill up a totally worthy top ten list with just norweigen banRAB from 1990-94, or a list of just USNSBM banRAB. That's all just black metal, too, I can't imagine such a list without Priest and Maiden and Ozzy and Manowar all represented, but it feels so odd to put them up with more modern, extreme acts. Maybe that's just me, though, hehe.

ive been listening to metal for some time, been gonig to shows and stuff. around my town i guess its a popular genre of music so if youd liek to know alot of metal banRAB id tell you some. check out burning the masses or knives exchanging hanRAB, if you like them tell me and ill tell you some more. =]

Manowar - Kings of Metal. Very entertaining straight up power metal band, that were also innovative by releasing this epic slice of viking/heathen metal cheese in 88' beating Bathory's Hammerheart by almost 2 years. They featured tasty guitar solos by ex-Dictator Ross the Boss, insane bass solos and a lead singer with a pretty good set of pipes. I look at them as the Kiss of power metal.

I think if people started giving their opinions in a small write up for each of their choices then we'd have less bickering, or at least if there is the aggrovator will come off looking like the asshole.
