Your Favorite (Or Least Favorite) Movie Ending

The Others with Nicole Kidman... that ending rocked my face off. It was completely unexpected (well, at least for me) and it really made the movie for me.

And, uh... I can't think of any others. Snow White?

fight club, prestige, seven, matchstickmen...those are the only ones i can think of right now

I thought it would be interesting if we shared out favorite twist/surprise movie endings ... The only thing is, please don't actually give away the details! Unless you put "*Spoiler*" first, or something, that way it isn't ruined for whoever hasn't seen it yet. :)

My #1 favorite is probably The Usual Suspects. This was the first real twist-ending movies I had seen, and it was AWESOME. I never saw it coming! ;) It's the type of movie that is even more fun to watch the second time around, because you pick up all these little clues along the way.

The Sixth Sense is probably a given, also I'm sure everyone knows what the ending is.. But I would never have guessed it! This is also interesting to watch again and again when you already know the secret ;)

Identity and Memento were two others that I absolutely loved. Both seemed to have pretty simply set-ups, but once you got to the end, you were just like .. What just happened? ;) Great endings.

What ones did you love?

I agree with Fight Club (a really awesome film) and Abandon.

I saw Psycho (original) recently and I was really surprised by the ending. I mean, I underestimated the film because it was old, I guess Hitchcock was just ahead of his time.

The Others was a great surprise ending.

I can't remember Big Fish though, I'll have to watch that one again.

The other reason I also did not particularly care for "Identity's" ending is in fact because there are actually TWO endings (again, for those who've seen the film, you know what I am talking about).

:spoiler: for "Identity"

One not only invalidates the characters existence (so-to-speak)... But then it completely contradicts the "other" ending; the one that "matters" the most if you know what I am talking about.

End of :spoiler:

It's like why have the entire struggle (movie) if the end result that really matters isn't going to change?

(Again, we are handicapped because we can't discuss actual plot specific spoilers, but I think you know exactly what I am referring to).

I agree ROCKSTAR. I liked the actors in the movie, but the story was missing something. But the ending for sure was a pleasant surprise.

That's pretty much why I hated the ending. I loved the movie, loathed the end.
