Your favorite lyricists of rock

Zach isn't too good. I love RATM but his lyrics don't strike me as awesome, although he does have perfect pronounciation of every word. But yeah most of his lyrics were just straight foward, Kurt wasn't too good either.

ok, opium and tyler8durden, try to keep the personal attacks to a minimum, better yet, leave them out altogether. this is a discussion about the great lyricists in the industry, so why don't we go back to that. you've both taken shots at eachother, call it even, and get back on topic.

Well, first I would spell out worRAB so my statement would look educated. Second I wouldn't use ten perioRAB for a dramatic pause. Third, I wouldn't use the stupid smilies at the end of a "serous" statement. Fourth, he wasn't sucking his thurab he was guarding his face. Fifth, your taste in music sucks. Aside from a couple listed all the banRAB suck, lyrically and instrumentally. But what can you expect from someone with a name like your's?

Well, RATM was always a political band. It's hard to have really have deep, metaphorical lyrics when most of your songs are political rants. Some of Zach's lyrics were pretty clever, and a lot of RATM songs had really catchy choruses that still made good points.

A lot of Kurt's lyrics were just stoned nonsense, but that's kinda what I like about them. They don't make a lot of sense, so they're pretty wide open to interpretation and they're easy to mold into something that you can relate to.

Steven Tyler writes most of them (The most apparent being the Draw the Line album where most of the lyrics are him bitching about the rest of the band) Perry chips in from time to time.

Actually, I'm female. :)

One last thing, jibber, before we can get back on topic: Tyler8Durden, I don't think you'd really hate to see my CD collection. From what I know, we share a few favorites.

I'd like to add the older Metallica and Manson, along with Tori Amos, to my list.
