To be fair to Stallone, he was in some interesting stuff in the 1970s which could have seen him having a more varied career. His cameo in Woody Allen's "Bananas" was pretty funny, and "Rocky" was a well-intentioned crowd pleaser. Maybe he got rich and famous earlier than was good for him. If only success had come later, we might be lauding him for scripts altogether better than the "Rocky" and "Rambo" reboots. Still, he was serviceable in "Cop Land", and thankfully he was talked out of playing Axel Foley in "Beverly Hills Cop" -he wanted more explosions than the producers would grant him.
Madeleine Stowe was serviceable in "Short Cuts" and, well, beautiful.
Nicolas Cage's presence in films this decade very handily lets you know the flick's one to miss. Although I'd make exception for "The Wicker Man", as its laugh count is higher than most comedies.
Steven Seagal isn't an actor, he's a musician, and an average one at best.
Hugh Grant's a pet hate of mine, especially after "About a Boy".
