You'll never get that time back - the CRAP MOVIE thread #2(NO LISTS)

I think, a lot of the times, hype really doesn't help. It's pretty inevitable that the movie can't live up to it.

Take Da Vinci Code for instance. I heard it was crap. I heard the actors had no chemistry. I heard the movie was disconnected. I heard it had some long, boring moments. So I went in expecting not very much, you know? And I quite liked it.

Trainspotting, to get back to my earlier example, had been sold to me as the Second Coming of movies, you know?? And while I was never gonna like it, and there was the whole "I got stood up" thing, I'm sure part of the strong reaction against it was that I had expected to enjoy my time. And I really, really, really didn't.

Okay, people love Moulin Rouge and I never had any intention of seeing it but all my friends kept telling me how awesome it was and how if I missed it I would have missed the movie event of the year. And they may have been right. I didn't really get that far because all of the flashing and colors and music gave me a terrible headache. I'm pretty sure that movie could be ceizure inducing if you are prone to them.

Which is not to say it's not a good movie. I couldn't tell you anything at all about the plot. All I can remember at all is... flashing.... colors.... head.... owww!

Oh that movie had more troubles than bad acting. You know you're in trouble when the Chateau Frontenac shows up in Montreal as it's a famous Quebec City landmark. Now, I know movies are very often filmed in different locations than where they're supposed to be, but this was a movie filmed and set in Montreal, so you'd think they'd be careful about not showing quite explicitly a landmark from a city a good two hours away from where it's supposed to be...

Not to mention that they obviously never took the time to drive around town, otherwise they'd have realized that having a five-minute conversation in a car without ever stopping for traffic is absolutely impossible when you're driving downtown.

Finally, and this seems almost a superfluous gripe, but French Canadians do not sound like people from France. It would be like casting English people as Americans without requiring them to change their accents.

 So, yeah, all that boils down to "Thank God for Kiefer Sutherland." At least one person in that movie sounded Canadian.

Another movie I didn't like at first but grew to like was Moulin Rouge. At first, I found it laughable.

I dont think I will ever seen..War of the World . It didnt catch my interest at all plus Ive heard some pretty bad comments about it, even coming from my dad and he is a good judgement of movies.

Snakes on the plane- Just didnt do it for me, the plotline was cheesy and the animated snakes couldnt of been anymore fake.

:lmao: *wipes tears away*

Movies to never see:
Wedding Bell Blues
Where the Truth Lies
Me, You and Eveyone We Know

Check!

Lets see what movie I can add...

Bring it on 2 and 3

I loved the first one, so I decided I'd give the other two a chance, I couldn't make it through half of the movies. I thought the plots were stupid and the acting was terrible.

Haha, I hear ya! I hate being dissapointed but I can't help getting too excited for certain movies. I also want to watch "Children of Men".:)

Dead and Breakfast-just plain bad,the concept was just so stupid and the moment i saw jeffery dean morgan in the opening credits i knew it was gonna suck!

I agree! I can't wait for Children of Men to come out this weekend... I'll probably end up in here bitching about it though. I've been waiting for this film since summer and every time I wait a few months to a over a year for a movie I end up disappointed in the end :(

Oh NO you didn't! *pets Clive* I think he's fantastic. But yeah, Derailed was not a great movie.

Lonely Smile Seriously? I think he looked dirty, in a very good way. Meow! :D

OMG, So true! They didn't have any type of spark, anything. Jamie Foxx and Naomie Harris made the better couple. I attribute this to Naomie because I just love her! But again, like you I was surprised since CF always has chemistry with everyone. I did, however, think he looked deadly sexy. The rest of the movie, meh.

Cabin boy was the most pointless two hours of my life. Tom Cruise's War of the World was in a crappy class of it's own...
