You steal a camera during MY Workshop? Fuck you, you piece of messed-up shit !

Yeah, could we change the message board so that a thread that's been Diogenized is a different colour or something? Like the Grapist? That would be handy.
How about the background flashing red? ALERT! ALERT!

I wonder if I start a new thread Cartooniverse might come back and finish his story without Dio making everything all about him.

I hope so. I thought Cartooniverse's OP was a great rant, and I'd love to know more about what happened. The hijack is just more Diogenes' Experience Trumping All, and it's boring. He never changes his mind, no matter what cites you bring.

I haven't smoked pot in years, but if someone wants to claim that marijuana impares cognition and motor skills, that's the person who needs to bring the cite, not me.
That would be fine if you made no claim whatsoever. That's not the case, though. You likewise made a claim -- namely, that marijuana does not affect one's cognitive abilities or motor skills. You made that claim, so it's just as fair to ask you to defend it.

As MsWhatsit said though, you continually hold yourself to a much lower standard. "I'm right because I say so" is not a valid form of argumentation.

Not that |I really care that much about this particular side argument, (I only looked it up because I wanted to know myself) a quick google search did find this.

Not super detailed, but at first glance, pot does affect motor skills.

I'm not following the evidence well...

When you say "But surveillance cameras? They really don't lie, now do they ?" do you mean that you were shown video that showed the accused in the act?

If not, it still does sound pretty suspicious that the camera was found by the guy. However, I would be wondering who had control over those trash bins. It isn't too unusual for workers to put stuff in the trash and then retrieve their loot when they take the trash out to the dumpster.

Considering that you were guests, it doesn't seem plausible that a thief in your group would use the garbage route for their crime. I assume you feel he tossed it in the bin minutes before "finding" it?
Was he unobserved long enough to have done this once the heat was on?
My guess? He "found" it in the bin by diving down head-first, taking it out from under his jacket, and putting it there.

1.) I'm suspicious of the fact that Cartooniverse has never responded to say that he did, in fact, view the security tapes.

2.) Smoking pot has nothing to do with somebody's likeliness to steal shit. This particular pothead happens to be a fucking loser.

3.) Coming to an event fucked up as a client is not remotely comparable to coming to the same event fucked up as a vendor. The person paying for something is only cheating themself; the person being paid would be cheating everyone who gave them money.

4.) Shut the fuck up, Dio.

5.) No, seriously--shut the fuck up, Dio.

What these people are missing out, is that a regular user of cannabis doesn't get an extreme high unless the substance is really potent. And if it was that potent, you wouldn't even want to drive. I'm gonna claim that to the average habitual pot smoker, smoking 5 joints and going for a drive, will be less of a hazard than drinking 5 pints of cider, for example. Tell me how you are going to prove differently?

That's not how it works, my bud-smoking friend. You make the claim; you provide the evidence.

There is more wisdom in a single episode of The Simpsons than there is in the entire Encyclopedia Britannica. FACT!
