im thinking of purchasing an XBOX 360 so i can play games like testdrive unlimited etc.
any comments on this console?
i heard some of them freeze etc, any truth to that?

1-10 how good is this gmae Console?
do you preffer it over ps3/wii/ps2/Xbox?

thanks guys/girls

8-10.

They don't freeze more than any other console. If you're so worried about it, buy a warranty which is a pretty good idea for any console purchase.

If you're on a tight budget PS2. Lots of games readily available. Xbox support has been ditched for the 360.
If you've got more money to spend now, 360. Hardware failure would be something constantly in the back of my mind, but they offer a 1 year warranty now.
If you've got lots of money, PS3 in the future, not now.
Wii, meh.

id give it a 9 easy. i hated original xbox, but i love the 360. as for comparing it to ps3, i dont find myself getting caught up in that. i happen to love my ps3 for its own reasons. i have a launch system and i havent yet seen a single red light. its froze maybe 6 times all its life only during gears which i know is a problem with gears more or less which is rare enough as it is.

360 has awesome features. I love the live integration. I can be watching an HDDVD and my buddy can be playing gears. We can be chatting and I can just jump in the middle of his game and take the place of his AI character.

microsoft gives you a 100% replacement warranty for 1 year to help protect you in the event that you get a dud system, so no real reason to worry about freezing (and the majority of people with systems haven't had any problems with them).

the game library is by FARRR the best out there for a next gen console, and the upcoming games list for 2007 and beyond is nothing short of excellent.

the live system is the best out there right now, and you can get a one year gold subscription to xbox live for about 35 bucks on ebay.

i'd give it a 9 out of 10, mainly because it doesn't currently have hdmi connections.

the controller is, in my opinion, the best gaming controller ever made. it's a little bit bigger than the dual shock, and that makes it much more comfortable for me to use for longer periods of time. plus it has rumble which i like (though if you don't like it you can disable it), which is not available on the ps3.

I suppose none of you guys have friends so it's hard for you to grasp the concept of you know... having played one alot on one of your friends.

i'd give it a 9/10.

game selection is really good, and the problems are non-existant as long as you take care of it. it tends to get really warm if you play it for a long time, though. btw, i have test drive unlimited and it's not as much fun as PGR3. the racing is way more intense in the latter game. i like this system much more than any other except PS3. if you have the money, i would get the PS3 first. i just didn't want to wait.

no problems with freezing at all.

I own a PS3 and a 360 and the 360 gets a lot more playing time. HOWEVER, I bought one January 1st 2006 and I'm on my third one. I'm not saying that they are necessarily all like that, but I'm just giving my personal experience. If I could only pick one console this generation, it would be the 360, hands down.

9/10

As of now my only complaints are that the video player doesn't let you stream formats other than .wmv (yet ), no HDMI (yet) and that the built in HD is only 20 GB (soon to be fixed hopefully).

I've gotten no errors, one freeze and it was when I pulled up someone's profile while in PGR3 as a ranked match was loading. I simply turned it off and it was fine.

Plus the current games are , and don't seem to be getting any worse.

having just gotten all three systems within the past few weeks, my 360 so far has gotten the most play time. i've never really been that big into FPS but COD2, COD3, GOW completely blew me away

my main gripe is lack of hdmi (for the hddvd drive) and the stupid fact that the x360 comes with a 20gb harddrive but 5-6gb of that is eaten by the OS

Also, aslong as your system is under warranty you can call Microsoft and get replacements for accessories aswell. Drop a controller and now its broken? Call em up, they send you a replacement first. Sit on your xbl headset? Not a problem.

I love my xbox, and yes mine did freeze and now im dealing with a hardware issue where im getting the three red flashing lights. I finally found my receipt stating i bought in 1/3/06 but when i talked to the representative they said its covered till the end of this month, so they are fixing it completely free of charge.

Ive been spending some quality time with the Wii lately, but i still miss the xbox and cant wait to get it working again.
