X-Men 3

I. LOVED. THAT. TRAILER.
 :)

'specially Cyclops screaming to the heavens!
Reminded me of the 'old school' uncanny X-men phoenix saga.

That's just my general impression of HMV, I usually look in the supermarkets first before HMV, ASDA sometimes offers better prices, but HMV would be my last resort. Unless they've finally realised they have to cut prices to compete.

Yeh... i noticed that too... although, The Thing's (Fantastic 4) suit looked rubbery in the trailers, but seemed fine on screen, so i'll reserve judgement...

hi, first post so here goes...

I adore the whole x'men world. I really enjoyed 1 and 2 (not to mention the cartoon series, i couldn't afford to buy comics as a child) and eagerly await the 3rd installment. I would also like to see 'Beast' make an appearance.
I did get very excited at the end of the second film at the thought of the Jean becoming the Phoenix (does she become the phoenix or dark phoenix or does it posses her... not sure).

hmmm can i just say that i am a fan of Witchbade but was appauled at the film some moron made!!!!

ttfn x

That surely has to be only the start of it though! The mutant war breaks out in this film and the government have only one option but to stop it with Sentinals.

Good to hear X4 is in development and I not suprised to hear that it is only the newer cast members who are signed up for it. I will be suprised if we see many of the older cast members in X4!
I have to say I agree with doctor mango when he said it might be released in 2009 but I think that will be th earliest it will be released!

Pre Production is often a long and uncertain process - I wouldn't be suprised if 'X-Men 3' develops a touch of 'development hell' along the way ;)

Agreed - X3 not as good as X2. But better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

Personally I've never liked Kelsey G in that Frasier programme - but he surprised me in X3. Thought he was quite restrained and quite suited being the Beast. And totally agree that they should bin Rogue from X4 - she was a bit dull in the first two comics anyway. And agree with whoever it was that said that Vinne Jones was awful - from that flesh body suit thing that didn't quite look real to the few lines that he had (and managed to deliver badly).

We just need to find a way to re-resurrect Phoenix/Jean Grey!

I can well believe that there won't be an X4. I mean, a Wolverine film would be a lot cheaper as you wouldn't have to pay for expensive actors such as Sir Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart. Even Halle Berry is gonna cost a couple of million, I guess. So they'll save lots of money there.

But a Wolverine movie would probably be lower on CGI too. He's going to be up against baddies with other physical/fighting-type abilities, which are probably cheaper to stage than Phoenix / Magneto type energy-based powers.

So (unfortunately) I can well believe that there won't be an X4. Damn those producers!

X3 writer Zack Penn has been talking about Storm role in X3. He said "As one of the writers of the last film, I'd say it's true she ended up with mostly exposition and plane-flying... There was a whole sequence at the beginning of the last film that showed the origins of her character in Africa, and it got cut simply because there are 14 characters to service. But 'X3' has a couple of big twists, and Storm is right in the center of them. The fact that Halle is a very good actress who was underused compounRAB the wish for her to have a better role." So it will be interesting to see what these twists are in X3!

That's cobblers. Jubilee is asian for a start. I could understand (and expect) her to change actress between movies (like shadowcat has done), but not change race. :o

I think Sabretooth has been confirmed as appearing, but I know very little about the Wolverine story. From what I'm hearing the fans want Omega Red as the main villain.

They could even get Brian Cox back as Stryker and do the whole Weapon X plot. Sabretooth was a subject of that as well as Logan.

As for Lady Deathstrike, well if the story takes place before any of the X-Men films than she can easily appear. We know that both characters have problems with their memory and have been connected to the Weapon X facility, so she could have been a former lover. That would make X2 even more tragic when Wolverine kills her, as he'd never know they were together.

In the comics Logan was in love with a Japanese girl called Mariko, and in the cartoon they merged that character with Lady Deathstrike, so it's possible the film could too.

Yeah that sounRAB like a good idea to shoot X Men 3 and 4 back to back but I cant see it happening because they are doing the Wolverine spin off film straight after X Men 3 finishes!
I cant see Wonder Woman being a success either because it seems that the majority of female superhero film flops e.g Catwoman and Elektra. Appartently Kim Basinger is producer Joel Silver's first-choice to play Wonder Woman. Silver wants Basinger to play a more mature Wonder Woman and maybe Jessica Biel if they go for a younger version. "Kim would be used if Wonder Woman is older, Jessica is if she's younger".
The new Batman film will be completly different to the dreadful sequels to the original Tim Burton film. Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale have both stated that its very loyal to the comic. Christian Bale has stated recently that Batman is the true personality and Bruce Wayne is the mask. Batman is my favourite superhero as he didnt have to rely on any special powers however I am just enjoying all the recent batch of new superhero films apart from Catwoman which was rubbish!
I just hope that in 2006 I will be able to go the cinema and be able to enjoy X Men 3!
