X-Men 3

thats a good point..but how can they explain his lack of intervention for the rest of the film?

Plus didnt Prof X also say that he was dead?

If I have to take a 'last stand' to keep this thread alive then by Wolvie's adamantium claws... I will!

5 . 26 . 06

Or if you're a Brit that's...

26 . 05 . 06

Though I'm not exactly sure what date it opens in this country!
(all the excitement is getting to me! :D )

Just got back from seeing it, it was alright, but a bit of a let down after X2 I thought. Every time I saw Vinnie Jones and that blue thing I just cringed. And where's Nightcrawler gone? He was a weird character, but somehow it worked with him - but it didn't with Beast I don't think. Maybe the change of director? Don't really know....

But far from being a bad film, just not as good as X2.

I had also heard that they had a short list of 3 directors and appartenly 2 of the 3 men have worked for Fox before. 2 of the possible directors were suggested by executive producer Avi Arad!

The actress who played Psylocke spent two months filming her scenes, and when she was cast they held a press conference for it!

Needless to say, she was surprised to see how much made the cut and even more so to find out she
was killed in the end (although off screen- and the book apparantely says she shadow teleported just in time).
She (Mei Melancon)'s trained in the martial arts and also said she did use her Psi-blades. I'm guessing that most of her stuff'll be in either deleted scenes or an extended cut.

I think out of all the X Men that arnt signed up Hugh Jackman is one of the most likely to do a fourth film even if it is just a cameo role. His love for the character of Wolverine is known and maybe after doing the Wolverine film which should be out late 2007/early 2008. He might be be up for X4!
The one X Men that I dont mind if she doesnt appear in X4 is Halle Berry as Storm as knowing her demanRAB after X3 she will properly want X4 to be centred around Storm!

I heard something about LinRABey Lohan being cast as Jubilee in X3...please someone tell me this is not true!! I mean ok she can do the whole comedy thing quite well but i don't know if she could play a serious role...

I cant wait to get this on DVD when it is released and I hope there are loaRAB of delated scenes or maybe even an extended version?
The rumours about X4 seem to be false as I read this on Dark Horizon website about the possible sequels:

"With "X-Men: The Last Stand" opening big at the box-office, speculation quickly arose that a fourth "X-Men" film may be rushed into development. The talk came despite the studios insistence that 'The Last Stand' would be the final film in the trilogy.

Well Fox are sticking to their guns, but Marvel head Avi Arad confirmed that there are no plans for an "X-Men 4" in the works, but their two proposed spin-off films are still very much on the carRAB.

Arad told the trades that "The first reaction, which we should discard, is here comes 'X-Men 4'. We're working on 'Wolverine,' which is definitely a continuation, and we have a very interesting script about a young Magneto".

Will Fox change their tune and pressure him for a fourth? Seems unlikely due to the expense involved. In many ways it now seems that "Wolverine" will serve as the unofficial fourth film sometime either in 2008 or 2009."

So it seems like we wont be getting an X4!

Superman Returns better be one heck of a film for Bryan Singer to have left this once great franchise in the hanRAB of a buch of Hollywood hacks. While it's an alright summer blockbuster, it's nowhere near the quality of X2, or even X1. With X1, you could feel there was a genius behind the camera but they were restrained from going all out sometimes. I would think with certain scenes, that's an interesting idea, but I wish they's gone further with it. With X2 though, that genius was totally unleashed. There was nothing I didn't like about it. I could go on and on about all the moments, big and small, that made the story such a masterpiece and the characters so real.

But X3? The genius had been all but extinguished. There were occaisional glimpses as it fought to reignite, particularly in the first half, but those attempts were quickly subdued. The whole film was fairly pedestrian. I guess I would have liked it more if I didn't have the first 2 to compare it to.

I dont consider that scene to be a major spoiler and I cant see it ruining my enjoyment of the film however I know how upset some people can get about not wanting to know anything about X3!
It does sound amazing and if it is true then I have got high hopes for X3 as that scene is only 7-10 minutes of the film so imagine what the rest of the film will be like!

Yeah I dont think Sir Ian McKellen will feature in the Magento spin off as the screenwriter of the spin off film Sheldon Turner said that "It's going to take place from 1939 Auschwitz up to 1955 or so," says Turner. So that would make the film a period prequel to the X Men film and so no need for Sir Ian McKellen to feature in the film!

I've seen both of the x-men movies. I think I like the second one better. I hope that they will come out with a third one. It will probably be good, too.

Later~

Man there best be like 40 minutes of uncut scenes cos everything just looked too fast/and not quite shown....

Sorta like Kingdom of heaven ive heard the directors cut is a totaly different film....

As for the wolverine film theres plenty history with sabertooth, heck they should bring in Omega Red and Captain America, course they cant quite go down that lady death route cos she was just another baddie to wolverine in X2 rather then her love interest like in the cartoons...

Ive heard the Wolverine film will just be not set before or after but its just Wolverines own story... so it doesnt conflict with anything thats happen really.

This film is going about as un soomthly as it can, and I'm fearful that it will end up being a terrible movie...

I don't really understand the nature of Alan Cummings' refusal, he was contracted for two movies if my memory serves me correctly, and he did seem keen to do it, why turn back now? Is he fishing for more cash?

I think it's in the interest of the film to make sure EVERYONE is back on board, it WILL put people off if the cast is too different, I would even hope Marvel tried to get Marsden involved, after all, how many filming days can he have as a secondary, if not terciary, character in Superman?

I just think it's ironic (or something) that actors are perfectly happy to be made ugly and blue of all colours, but they always have to have fluorescent white teeth.

Yeah X3 opens the same date in the UK on the 26th of May. It is rumoured that Brett Ratner is to be directing Wolverine and Vinny Jones could be starring in Wolverine as well as X3. Vinny Jones said

Ian McKellen has been talking about playing Magento again in X3:
"Although I haven't actually signed the contract it is intended that I reprise Magneto in the 3rd X-Men movie. Shooting starts in September in Vancouver, where I shall join the cast after completing my work on Da Vinci Code." I thought he was already signed up for X3 but that must be wrong however it does seem as if he will defiantly in X3!

Except it's the complete reverse really. Hugh Jackman was adamant that the X-Men films were over, and his 'Wolverine' movie was the only way forward. Halle is willing to work for nothing, she loved Storm so much.
