X-Men 3

I cant wait untill the 25th of May and it is less than a month away!
Sir Ian McKellan has been talking about the X Men spin off film Magneto "I'll be playing the part. I don't know if it's in the [press] notes, the first time that Patrick Stewart and I appear in this film [X-Men: The Last Stand], we appear to be 25 years younger than we are. And that's been done by a technology never used in film before, which involves no makeup, no special effects whatsoever. We just go into the studio and do the scene as is, and then they morph our faces on to photographs of ourselves 25 years ago. Lo and behold, there we are" says McKellen.

He continued, "They can take any shaped person and they can slim you down, they can build you up, they can bring out your shoulders, change the style and color of your hair. Remove every wrinkle. They removed so many wrinkles from my face, I looked so young that [X-Men director] Brett Ratner said, 'You've got to put a few wrinkles back. It's looking ridiculous.' So it would mean that I could play myself at 25, feasibly. As long as I can keep myself lithe and sounding young".

Yeah I think you are right as with all the spin off films it could be about 4 or 5 years untill we get X4 at the earliest if it does every happen!

Scott Madej has been cast in X3 but at the moment there seems to be some confustion about his role as some sites are reporting that he will be playing a young Charles Xavier and other are stating that he will be playing Gambit!
Also filming for X3 is due to run from August 2nd to December 15th in Vancouver!

Well I'm just hoping that despite the problems and turbulance that has surrounded teh film so far we can get the X Men movie (or movies, a double would be awesome) that we deserve...

And I agree with the above poster, how amazingly thick is Marsden? He gave up being a superhero in an anticipated movie, with a potentially big role for what? The son of a minor character! lol

Apparently Singer was trying to coax Famke into signing up too, she however seem to have her head on her shoulders and not up his as$...

And as mentioned, cumming has quite clearly said he wont miss Singer, they obviously didnt get along...

Personally I think Singer has made a mistake, Superman smells of mediocre success, even potential flop, I'm sure he'll regret jumping ship...

Ah yes... the classic quote:

"After playing Storm in 'X-Men' and now Catwoman, I think my comic book hero days are probably over."

"That's unless I was lucky enough to play Catwoman again. I would love to do that. But other than that, I think I've pretty much done it."

Sooo... you wouldn't reprise a role in a well received, well adapted, respected comic book movie series... but you would reprise a role in a terrible, badly received, awful movie based on the bastardisation of a classic comicbook character?...

Can i get some of what shes smokin?
Next film, I think she'll need a 2nd trailer to carry her ego...

:D

Yeah I think despite what Vinny Jones has said I will be very surprised if there is a X Men 4 as I think it is better to leave it as 3 films. Anyway after X3 we have got the Wolverine spin off film to look forward to as well!

Hmm - so who do we reckon will be the bad guys in the Wolvie movie? I would have thought that Sabretooth would be the ultimate bad guy - but sounRAB like he's not going to have a major role. So who are the other contenders?

I'm not so familiar with the Wolverine universe.

On Ainitcool website they have just posted a summery of a early X3 script which does contain spoilers so if anybody is interested they should check out that site!

Nooo - hope they keep Jubilee out of the movie - boooring character. Ditto Gambit - yaaaawwn. Cable is too complex a character to introduce (given that he's the future son of Cyclops and Jean Grey from an alternate future). But of course they're bringing back Magneto and Professor X...

To replace Jean Grey, I think they do need a kick ass telepath in the movies though, so bring Psylocke in (either the early British version of her or her later, post-death/rebirth Asian version).

But wouldn't it be amazing if they brought in Apocalypse as the bad guy for X4?

Due to the masses of X-Men characters in the comics to work from, I do think X-Men films are a pretty unique franchise. In that you can ditch a load of the older cast from the first 3 movies, and i'm pretty sure the franchise would succeed without too may problems (assuming the script is good enough). Hell, you could make 3 more, and do the same thing again.

I saw on Guillermo del Toro (Director Of Hellboy and Blade 2) webchat on the empire website that he was asked if he was interested in directing X Men 3 and this was his answer: "I hear that Joss Whedon is doing it and as a fan I think that's perfect. I think that the character I love the most in the X-Men mythology is Beast, so it's too close to Hellboy for comfort"
So the rumours about Joss Whedon doing X Men 3 are still going around but all I want to hear is some offical confirmation so that we know that we will see a new X Men film in the near future!

According to reports Sir Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry and other cast members of X-Men 3 are expected back in Vancouver shortly to re-shoot some scenes for X3!

I know Psylocke only got to show off her shadow powers in the movie but I don't get her "psi-blades" power- do they just mentally affect a person or can it kill them??

Is there anyone else as disappointed with X Men 3 as I was?

I loved x men the cartoon as it was one of the only cartoons to include strong females aswell as strong male characters. The love relationships and love triangle between jean grey, scott, and wolverine was the most interesting.

The films were really good and I liked that Jean Grey was one of the most powerful, as she was always seen as 2nd powerful, only below the professor in the film, however they rarely showed her full potential. Storm was a little disappointing in the film as she is the leader of the x men along with scott (and obviously professer x), but in the film halle berry wasn't particularly powerful or commanding, and seemed to be pretty boring to be honest. Rogue was also a disappointment in the film as she is pretty much useless, in the cartoon was she probably the strongest, which was unusual for a female to be.

Anyway x men 2 was the best for me as everyone was at their strongest. I especially liked the end when jean grey had to sacrifice herself to save everyone else. From the films and the phoneix saga it was obvious she would return and that was very exciting.

But X Men 3 ruined everything. She came back and wasn't herself at all. In the cartoon when she was the phoneix she was evil but she could still never kill scott as jean grey loved him and would always stop the phoneix. But she killed him within the 1st 20 minutes of the film. This was a great shame as scott was central to x men.

Phoneix then just walked around in a mood and said nothing. Magneto was the one who did the talking and Phoenix just stood there saying nothing even though she was the most powerful. Then at the end wolerine just stabs her and she dies! What was the point of her returning in the first place?! The whole point of phoneix was for her power to be so strong jean could not control it, until love and emotion brought her back out and let her have some self control, along with help from the professer.

When I heard about x men 3 and the phoneix saga i naturally presumed it would be all about jean grey. But somehow they managed it to be all about wolverine and storm again. My favourite characters, jean, scott, and the professer died.

I was hoping Rogue might evolve and gain her strength and ability to fly in this film but that did not happen either. Mystique lost her powers early on. The new characters were pretty boring as they did not have much air time to really grow on me.

I was just very very disappointed with the film. I am not really bothered about a wolverine movie as he is not my favourite character by far. I hope in X Men 4 they will set things right and bring jean grey and scott back. However for some reason the actor who plays scott is barely mentioned so I'm thinking maybe they don't want him back, which is a shame and it would be great to see jean and scott back together!

Yeah, I guess I'd be up for X4. But for me, X-Men has always been about certain key characters like Wolverine, plus the couple that is Cyclops and Jean Grey/Phoenix. So how would they move on without those two key people?

Okay, let's put it this way. Who do you think they should introduce in X4...?
