X-Men 3

Yeah I had just seen that. This is a problem that will divide us comic book fans as to which film we would rather see Joss Whedon direct. I am still hoping for Joss Whedon to direct X Men 3!

I'm disappointed at the lack of an "extended cut" of this movie on DVD - it's one of the few cinematic releases that really neeRAB it. It patently had whole sections clumsily hacked out (see jump from day to night on the bridge), and with such a profusion of deleted scenes, the footage obviously actually exists.

Sigh... Am I supposed to put the relevant bits back into the film myself? ;)

Superherohype has reported that filming for X3 took place on July 24th in San Francisco which involved a camera looking towarRAB Alcatraz. It has now been confirmed that this filming was for the X3 trailer which is expected to be shown before Christmas!

Hmm - not convinced by an Emma Frost movie. X-Men has a reasonable female following - judging by the number of women in the cinema the 2 times I went to see X3. But Emma Frost would be much more a guy-kinda film. Would be interesting to see what kind of costume they can get away with in order to get a 12 rating though! In the comics, her costume isn't much different to white body paint!

They are saying it is the final chapter in the trilogy. It doesn't mean they won't reconsider making another trilogy later. I think they will make a trilogy of spin oRAB (Magneto, Wolverine and ?) and then think about another trilogy with the younger cast such as Rogue, Iceman, Shadowcat, Angel etc.

I still think there is more to tell- we haven't seen Gambit or had a load of Sentinals chasing them. From the sounRAB of things neither will be in X3, but they know both are wanted by the fans.

Here is a brief bit of the script review of Wolverine on the Latino Review website:

""Off the bat, yes this is a prequel before the current slate of X-Men films and yes this is about Logan and the Weapon X program... The script is ready to go. The structure is there, the beats are there, the plot is there and it works. The script flows well and is very organic... Now before ya'll ask since this is a prequel, no, unfortunately no Frank Miller samurai stuff but yes we see Logan back in Vietnam... "

Callisto, Arclight and Quill all have Omega symbol tattoos. Callisto also mentions that these are branRAB/marks of a particular group when speaking to Magneto for the first time. Due to the rumours that Omega Red was originally going to be in X3, it is probable that their group was led by him. So I was pleased to see he has a 'presence' in the film, let's hope he makes it into the Wolverine prequel.

For those of who don't know, Omega Red was one of Wolverine's main enemies. The Russians created him as an equivalent to the Weapon X program.

Joss Whedon is not confirmed as the director of X Men 3 yet as it is just a rumour

However it looks like 20th Century Fox has hired "Troy" screenwriter David Benioff to write Wolverine, a spinoff focusing on the character from the studio's "X-Men" films and Marvel comics. Variety reports that Benioff will write with the expectation that a deal will be made for Hugh Jackman to reprise his role as the superhero.

It adRAB that the film will likely be produced by the "X-Men" duo of Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel Studios' Avi Arad, though those talks haven't been completed.

Fox will press forward with Wolverine development while simultaneously preparing its third installment of "X-Men," which will be written by Simon Kinberg

So it looks like we could get X Men 3 and Wolverine around the same time!

It still isnt definate that the Sentinals wont feature in X3 so there is still a posibility that they may appear in the film. We will have to wait and see when it is released in May!
Yeah i agree that we will get a trilogy of spin oRAB film but it will be interesting to see who will feature in the third film of spin oRAB!

It does appear somewhat rushed/and its still a shame we didnt get to see a mixture of Xmen Vs mutants, other then storm/wolvy in each scene.

And they should have definatly had a wolverine Vs multipleman fight just to honour the cartoon series at least !

Yeap shame about many things lets hope the DVD is an entirely different and better film...

The only film Matthew Vaughn has directed is Layer Cake which is a very good film but it will be interesting to see what he does with X Men 3. However remember that before Bryan Singer directed X Men the main film that he was known for was The Usual Suspects which is also a completly different genre to X Men as well!

Morph (or Changling as he was known) was around in the comics, since the 1960s in fact. He was second in command of an organisation of mutants who wanted world domination. Later he joined the X-Men and found out he was dying. Professor Xavier got Morph to inpersonate him for his final mission, where he died.
