X-Men 3

X-Men 3 has been put back; it seems that the director of the first two movies (and the excellent film 'The Usual Suspects') Bryan Singer has turned down the third one and is turning his attentions to do the new Superman movie instead!
That said, pre-production is meant to have started on the movie, so I wouldn't be suprised if it was still on course for an early summer 2006 release.

Appartently according to new rumours a Marvel production company is auditioning actressess to play a new 17-year-old female lead character which is based on a recent rewrite of the script for X3!
The new female lead character in X3 is going to be Kitty Pryde who did appear briefly in X2 but who was played by a different actress!

The comic geek inside me was a little annoyed at some things, but overall I enjoyed X3. Ian Mckellen was excellent. Thought Juggernaut was good, ok he didn't look like the comic character but he ended up being better than I first feared. Pleased to see Omega Red had a 'presence' even if he wasn't actually seen on screen.

Had hoped Colossus would get a bigger role, turns out he didn

The only new characters Avi Arad has so far confirmed are Angel, Juggernaut, Beast and Shadowcat - and of them, only Juggernaught (Jones) and Beast (Grammer) have confirmed cast.

Yes, I heard he'd got that... I'm surprised he'd turn down a chance at X-Men for Wonder Woman though!..

I suppose he might have found the thought of filling Singers shoes a bit daunting maybe?... There would have been a lot of expectation given the acclaim his current comic book run is getting.

And Wonder Woman gives him a chance to do a comic book no one has touched for the big screen yet... Also, I suppose if there's one thing Joss knows it's his strong female leaRAB. ;)

I really like the idea of all these sequels and spin oRAB however I am worried that at some point these X Men films might head the same way as the Batman films. I just hope they get the right director for X Men 3 to take it in the right direction!
Shawn Ashmore is definitely involved in is "X-Men 3" though as he has said. "I really want to continue the Pyro/Iceman sort of rivalry," he says, "Because I think there's a great opportunity for a really fun battle between the two elements. I also like the relationship with Anna's character Rogue. It's not a typical teenage love story. There's a lot going against them, and I think it's interesting to sort of work through that. They're in a relationship that they can't rush into but they want to so badly that the tension there is really fun."
Although we are still waiting to see who the X Men 3 director is, the director of Wolverine could be Len Wiseman director of Underworld!

Yeah I would expect Wolverine if it is released in 2007 to be towarRAB the end of the year. Although I cant see it being a xmas film it maybe out around Oct/Nov time!
Fantastic Four 2 (or its offical title Fantastic Four and The Silver Surfer) is due out on the 6th July (I think it might be moved back to the 4th July!)

Loved the film but really really looking forward to the Wolverine film even more - does anyone know what part of his story they are going to concentrate on

No not at all as that is one of the things that I love about the X Men films is that if you watch them over and over again you keep on seeing brief cameo from X Men characters from the comics!

I didn't really like X-Men as I felt that it spent to long introducing the characters and explaining thier powers, etc. Don't get me wrong I realise that this needed to be done so that anyone who hadn't seen the cartoons, etc knew who everyone was.

But I loved X-Men 2 as it really had a good story and also had a good blend of action involved. Hope X-Men 3 is equally as good or better!!

The release date for X3 is meant to be 26th of May as a worldwide date but I have also read the 22nd of May so we know it will be released around the end of May 2006!

Alan Cumming seems happy enough with a new director though.

I also heard that Richard White will be Lois's love interest in the movie (or current lover) since Superman has been gone from Metropolis for a few years.

She was in the first two - both times with different actresses. In X-Men, it was Sumela Kay, in X2 it was Katie Stuart, and whoever plays her in X3 will be the third actress to play her in the franchise.

I love the X-Men movies (especially X2), but wish I shared you faith in the fate of X3.

I believe Iceman and Rogue are back, as they signed single movie deals for X-Men, then 2 film deals when they agreed to X2.

Stewart will come back for a big enough pay day, and McKellen is rumoured to be all for the Magneto movie (which he'd only be in as a narrator rather than being the central character, as its a flashback film) so he's due to join.

I hope Halle Berry doesn't come back... She made the unholy jump from Marvel to DC comics.

Rumour has it that Jackman is due to play a cameo in Superman, so the whole DC universe is going to underpinned by Marvel comic cameos apparently.... if Richard Branson wasn't enough!

Happy to see Kitty Pryde in it... But I'm a little pissed that they haven't even thought of Psylocke... Imagine the costume!!! hehehehe
