Wouldn't the world be a better place if we stopped the blame/fault culture?

Wouldn't things be better if we stopped allowing people to sue for a genuine accident? Yes, sometimes you will trip over, thats life.

Wouldn't it be better if we stopped feeling sorry for criminals? Ahh, poor old herion addict. It's not his fault that he mugged an old lady, he's an addict.

Ah did-dums, this drunken arse didn't get on with his mummy.

Don't we need to start letting people take responsibility for their own actions?
Ha!! I knew i wasn't the only one!!

perhaps but the only alternative and i mean the only one is one where the goverment has a much more authoritarian outlook.

A modern day democratic society needs blame. if there is a problem then it needs fixing and unfortunatly often the only way to get a politician or another person of authority to fix it is to make them fear being blamed or want to clear their name. In short, if you have the responsibility then you have to do it right, its the whole power and responsibility thing.

every person who commits a crime is to blame for their actions, of course. But that doesn't mean that there weren't other things that could have been done to prevent, the child from the broken home becoming a drug addict, or the man with the mental illness from being a danger to the general public.

societies and cultures are in a process of continual evolution, they are at no time perfect, but adapt as best they can to the needs of a general public.

You mean take responsibility for our own actions instead of the handy excuse of being bipolar or manic depressant or otherwise deficient? No way!

(just kidding of course, this is the problem with society, no one is prepared to better themselves if they can find a label to wear instead)

I think we do need to be more responsible in society. However I still think we NEED to care for the vulnerable.

There are some quite clever people manipulating state for their own ends.

Those who shout the loudest get, and the quiet ones sit by trying to cope without support.

Pie Eater, it makes me very cross

this state of things is very cruel both for the victims and for the delinquents
both for children who are growing up in loving, hard-working families, and for those who are in the streets and prone to commit crimes and consume drugs, fall into prostitution, and the rest
this situation is all over the world and there is very little that can be done to help
it is also apparently true that thousands and thousands make a living out of these terrible living conditions
maybe we are at the turn of an era ...
we see signs of the end of a civilization ... maybe
or maybe we have to learn to live in a different way
millions do not like what they see

Wouldn't it though. Sometimes it seems like there's no such thing as a mistake or an accident. People are not perfect. Stuff happens. I think too many people like to play God.

SURE!!! NOW, why don't YOU just come here and get RID of the thousands and thousands of LAWYERS that live here.

THAT IS THE NUMBER ONE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN AMERICA - TOO MANY LAWYERS.
