I'm a vegetarian, have been for probably 6 years now, but i still find it really awkward to tell people i'm vegetarian if it's to do with them preparing food for me. For example, not long ago i broke my leg, so i was off work for a few months, during that time my friend had an operation so i stayed with him and his family for a few days.
On the first day it totally slipped my mind to tell his mum that i was vegetarian, i didn't even know she was preparing food to be fair. But she went and made me salmon, potatoes and salad and i felt really really guilty for turning it down.
Do things like this ever happen to you?
Also, she had to go out of her way to cook me something different than the rest of the family for the next couple of days. She claimed to enjoy cooking something different and said she didn't mind, but i still felt bad about it.
