Would you describe your culture as family oriented?

Someone described a characteristic of people of irish descent as being "family oriented". I think this is quite true. But I'm just interested how many other cultures or "ethnicities" would describe themselves as family-oriented. I know that the small town in England that I grew up in is very close-knit and you could describe that as family-oriented.

I wonder if this whole "family-oriented" business is something that cultures use to differentiate themselves, but whether it's a bit of a misnomer as every culture values their family. Is there a culture that *doesn't* value family and that *isn't* family-oriented?
