Would you change your eating habits to help the planet?

People should eat less meat to reduce climate change and save thousands of lives a year, a Government-funded report has said. The number of animals farmed for food should be cut by almost a third, experts recommended. The move would significantly cut emissions and save around 18,000 lives a year from heart disease alone, they estimate.

wait wait wait, your trying to blame food for 18,000 deaths? I bet most of those deaths are from people who DON'T exercise right?
if you cook food the right way and exercise, you will not have any health problems, this is more of a person to person issue then a food issue, also, there are many people in this world that just have bad genes, where one person with good circulatory system genes will never have a heart attack from eating the same foods as someone with bad circulatory system genes, it's a fact of life, even completely healthy people can die randomly from heart failure, it's happened.
these are just estimates, no fact, don't start trying to push something on someone without it being 100% fact, or you may regret it in the near future.
and if you think giving some fatty food is a death wish to someone and has a likeness to murder, what about thinking of everything else that kill people? thousands more people die every month from car crashes, should we restrict or ban the use of cars because of the accidents and deaths they cause?
NO, something is eventually gonna kill you, it's impossible to escape, some people survive longer then others, some don't even live long enough to take a breath at birth, it's the way things go, live with it.
stop worrying about things that can kill you, unless you want to live in a tiny box, sealed off from the rest of the world and not have a life at all, live your life to the fullest and not worry about such petty things.

It won't happen because the export of meat is essential for the British economy. If every country in the world took part that may work, but some countries are huge meat eaters.
Your point about eating less meat to cut out heart disease lacks proof. Here in Spain we have the highest life expectancy in Europe and they eat a tremendous amount of meat.
If the government were really serious, they would ban tobacco products. Smoking kills more people through congested arteries than eating meat. Furthermore, the government can't ban smoking because they need the revenue. Someone is just playing politics with this!

No. I'm sick of these people ramming their sanctimonious opinions down my throat. Now they're telling me what to eat.
I eat a sensible diet and I'm not changing a thing, nor would I try to lecture to someone else about it.
