Would you buy a Dragon Ball 'Dragon Box'? / VizBig DB Manga

Hell yes! I'm buying a Dragon Ball Dragon Box the moment it comes out! I want my never-before-seen in America openings and closings and the next episode previews!

Are you listening, FUNi? Give us Dragon Ball after you finish the Dragon Ball Z Dragon Boxes!

Aw what no third option? No "I'm satisfied of watching what I saw on tv and have no real interest of getting a Dragon Ball "Dragon box"

In all real serious, probably not but I do think Dragonball is amazingly awesome though.

To be honest, your not missing much. Yeah, the OP/EN are new, but the music stay the same.

And, to be honest, what FUNi did to Dragonball is one of the greatest Dub they ever done. The kept the JP Music, they left the hunor like in the JP and they didn't took alway a lot of things.
Though, I still want to know if that american flag is on the Uncut version or they left it alone.
(Its the episode where Goku first meet Oolong)

It's hardly one of their 'greatest dubs' when there's pointless changes a fly, removed music, and weak casting. They've done dozens of dubs since and they're far better than that.

Not that the dub is even a main attraction on these sets. Or that the dub is the subject of this thread...

I could go the same way with the JP and how the can't make a decent lip sync or they won't stop repeating the same track. But, like you said, this thread is not about that.

But, still, unless the DragonballBox give something new, like, a lost Dragonball Ep, bloopers, story baord, behind the scenes, than yeah, why not. But, if the Box set just gives me the episodes, than I don't see the point buying them.
Its like you buying a DVD and the only features DVD has is the trailer and turning off or on the subs.
Or like buying a game for 60$ and you beat it in 5 hours.
YOUR WASTING MONEY!

Unless it gives me a GOOD reason why I should spend 30$, than I will. And, its in japanese doesn't wow me (Anymore I mean). GIVE ME A REASON WHY I SHOULD BE WOW BY IT!

They did leave the option to have the Japanese BGM while listening to it in English if the viewer chose to do so in the the Season sets and saying whether or not the cast is "weak" is personal preference. You should know by now they're people (including myself) that will happily disagree with you saying FUNi's cast is "weak".

The 'removed music' was in reference to the vocal insert songs being removed or talked over in some cases.

When did I say you have to buy the Dragon Box?

Factually speaking, the Blue Bricks are not a superior product. If you personally don't care to spend a little extra money on a superior product, I don't care, not do I have the time to stich myself to the inside of your wallet and throw rotting produce at you every time you buy one of FUNimation's Blue Bricks instead of a hypothetical release of the Dragon Box.

I would find it entirely hilarious is this conversation drove off other posters from posting, however. I also find it hilarious how this conversation spun-off into a discussion about the differences between the original version of the dub track, but as always it was probably partially my fault.

superior product...Hmmm, You don't say. So, whats superior product are they? Other than its Japanese and the color is brighter.
What does the DVD has? I mean, whats in it? Bloopers, story baord, behind the scenes, the animation of Dragonball? Wha? Nothing like that.
So, why should I buy it?

You see the question...?
Now, I'm not a big fan wasting money. I hate wasting money. Mostly at things I already have.
But, if the things have something new, some extra stuff in it. Than why not, I'll buy it.
But if the things are just the samething, but brighter, than no. I'll wait for something BETTER! More, like you said, superior product.

You see what I'm trying to say here?

And don't blame yourself, its the in-ter-web.

I love DBZ most of it is my favorite part of the Dragonball franchise and since theres not one good alternative to see this show on DVD the Dragon Box Z is the best thing for me to get. Although I'm fine with others coming out I'm not sure I would buy them.

Dragonball Dragon Box: Unless theres like some good extras like the saftey specials I 'm fine with the bricks. Sure the bricks are inferior but there not cropped so I can live with it. That and Dragonball didn't really become awesome tell after the Red Ribbon saga for me anyway.

Dragonball Movies Dragon Box: I would buy this I have yet to see Curse of the Blood Rubbies and Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle. I would love to see them and Mystical Adventure also get a redubb. Also they could put in the Jump special in there since I dont think its even long enough to warrant a single release. Also would be nice to have the movies in a set for once. It really would free up some shelf space from all those damn single volumes.

Dragonball GT Dragon Box: No I wouldn't pay such a price for a show I hate and dont consider part of the Dragonball franchise. If I did get the others and maybe if it went on sale for cheap I would buy it for complition sake but thats it.

A US Dragon Box release in the same style as the DBZ DBox release would have all of the proper animation, credits, and next episode previews, not to mention a higher grade of remastering and audio for the original Japenese track. That is what makes it superior.

I do not care to play this game of yours. You don't seem likely to buy it and your participation in the poll has been documented. I'm not going to justify the validity of the facts of the situation and I'm not going to ceaselessly debate with you that you must buy the damn box. This is not the purpose of this thread. It's purpose is to act as much as a gauge for FUNimation as it can so that they will become as likely to release the Dragon Box masters as I can help them for my own personal enRAB and the enRAB of those who share my willingness to continue to shell out hundreRAB of dollars to FUNimation. Those who won't buy the sets have said their peace and it has been left at that.

Those sticking with the inferior products, while we are on the subject, are not inferior people, but rather people with different things to spend their money on. Do not feel belittled by such.

So it got all the stuff that most skip? Hmmm, I see.
Its not superior. Wait in the next 5 years when Japan brings out the real superior boxset. Which, is going to be the samething, but a different box art.
Thats still not a good enough reason why I should buy it, or at least thinking about buying it.
Id the DVD's are just giving me the episodes, than I don't see the point re-buying it again.
I really got it. Why I should get it again?

This is not the purpose of this thread.
To be honest, it is. The question of the thread "Would you buy a Dragon Ball 'Dragon Box'?"
My answer, no. And I'm telling why I don't want too. And to be honest, since you know more about Dragonball than my little mind, I thought you will say something I might like.
But, since your pretty much saying that DVD boxset are just showing the basics, I really don't see the point wasting money on something I already have.

Kinda

Having the footage FUNimation's original releases did not have (and are also the footage meant for each episode) does make it superior, as does the remastering supervised by the creators of the footage and not some licensor. Is it worth spending extra money to you? No, obviously it doesn't. You've made that clean in both your worRAB and your demeanor. I'm not going to tell you why you should buy it again, assuming you've bought a complete release of the series. You're obviously quite happy having the footage as is.

Would if the product were available.

I don't need DB DVRAB. My shelf does not need to take up space it doesn't have with a cluttered adaptation. I'd much rather just buy the original comics and have those to read. I'm honestly amazed so many fans keep coming back every time FUNimation re-releases these shows.

*Sigh* Ok, so you don't care about the benefits of a potential Dragonbox-release. That's fine and all, but please stop pretending like those benefits aren't there.
It would have all the stuff the current release has + correct opening/ending-animations for each episode + next-episode previews + much better video-quality + better sound for the Japanese track.
If you don't care about all that and think the current sets are good enough, then sure, just buy the current sets. Heck, I would have bought them myself if it wasn't for the fact that FUNi released the Dragonbox for DBZ, and I'm expecting them to do the same with the original.

I'm not acting those things are not there. All I'm saying...Thats all? I was hoping for more in the Dragonbox.

To be honest...I didn't.
I'm still waiting to see which is better. The FUNi just gives me the Dragonball EP's, thats all. I was hoping in the Dragonball DBox will give me something more.
But since its pretty much the samething, whats the point?

Make it, if the Dragonball DBox is less than the FUNi Dragonball Box, I'll buy the Dragonball DBox than.

None, I suppose. The current sets are about as good as any other FUNi-release, that being, as good as they can get with the footage they've got. The only way they could do any better would be to get better footage, which would be exactly what we'd get if they release a DragonBox. But really, if you're already buying the current releases, there's probably not much of a point in getting a DBox if they get one... At least not if you're a dub-fan, as one of the biggest selling-points for the Dragonbox (for me, at least) is that the Japanese audio would sound much better than what's on the current sets.
