Sub A is 300 rms and 600 watts peak
and
Sub B is 300 rms and 1200 watts peak.
Both would be hooked up the the same amp putting out 300 rms
since everyone says, peak doesnt matter only rms does...would both of these subs be equally loud?

The RMS isn't the only determining factor.

The sensitivity of the sub will also depict how loud it is.

Example:

Sub "A" is 200 watts RMS, 89dB
Sub "B" is 100 watts RMS, 95dB

Sub "B" will be louder.

This is because for every doubling of power you get a 3dB gain in volume.

So a 100 watt, 85 dB sub will be the same as a 200 watt, 82dB sub.

really just depends on the sub, all are different and have there own quality and sound
