would 1000w kenwood amp be good for 2 kenwood 12'' with 2400w max together?

im thinking about buying 2 kenwood 12'' subs and a 1000w kenwood amp and i need to know if it is a good buy the amp is running at 500w x 1 ch. at 2 ohm but the subs are running at 4 ohms. and i want to know if it will sound good before i spend money like that.
