Worst album you ever bought/dl'ed

Yeah, just look through progarchives, there's some pretty awesome prog covers out there.

I love Roger Dean and Hipgnosis's covers. Mark Wilkinson has some good ones too.

Gong, Hawkwind and Ozric Tentacles had some great illustrated covers to name a few, as well as some of the more obscure prog greats.

Though admittingly there's some really bad prog album art too. Camel's debut album and Gentle Giant's Acquiring the Taste come to mind. And of course the legendary Love Beach from ELP. :laughing:

And Birth Control, I can't think of anything more mind nurabingly awful than their album covers.

Ohh, I see. It's funny though, if you're going by Pitchfork reviews, the album that people always seem to hate most that I've noticed is this one,

Source Tags & Codes by ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. Even one of their own writers asked whether or not this album really deserved a 10.

That one seems pretty obvious as well. :laughing:

I also am surprised you disliked this so much, yet liked Crack The Skye. They are different, for sure, but still. I dig Leviathan most, and Remission is pretty badass as well.

^Oh man I second that one.
I wanted to give this album a fair shot:

But then a corabination of browsing through the song titles and remerabering the radio singles stopped me.

I didn't like that album at all when I heard it either for pretty much the same reason you didn't.

As for my picks;

F*cking hideous album this. There's one great song, the rest of it is cheesy, Danish synth-pop garbage.

Too loud, too long, too self-indulgent, too much coke, and so on. I actually paid for the bloody thing too.

Loved it when I was in junior school and knew virtually nothing about music, hate it with a passion now. I wonder what their bassist does when they play live. He must just sit on stage eating out of a lunchbox, because apparently they definitely do actually have a bassist.

i wouldn't go for just one review from a site, i'd check a few more on the album, to at least get different ideas on what i'd like and what i wouldn't
