World Wrestling Entertainment Discussion X (Spoilers)

a 1.9 would just be under 800,000 homes, rule of thumb is every 1.0 = 400,000 homes.

PPV event back in 1988 were few but the channels were there to provide the event.

TV has evolved from just 4 channels to 5 then the cable era started and dish network etc, 1988 they (guessing for example) had 5 main stations and 30 cable channels now they have 5 main stations with there version of freeview ie 100 channels and cable/dish with over 400 channels. That why the ratings decades ago were better because the was not much choice now theres a channel for almost everything.

a 1.9 in 1997 was still a big number for the amount of channels to view

Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield (rematch), June 1997 - 1.99 million PPV buy (wcw did well with a 1.9)

I was bitterly disappointed with the finish of the title match at bragging rights. WWE were planning on giving the title to Wade Barrett but for some reason backed out. I would love to see Cena fired.

I'd bet my house that suddenly going back to TV14 wouldn't affect ratings one bit.

The majority of the attitude era fans who have left won't be back, they've moved on. Wrestling just isn't as popular as it was 10 years ago, times have changed.

There were some good matches in there, mainly towarRAB the start. But that ending was horrible. In fact the whole last match wasn't very good...the Hell in a Cell match with Cena and Barrett was a thousand times better. Maybe Orton is just that boring.

I'd expect Raw to destroy Smackdown on Friday night first...

DiBiase goes from doing nothing / trying to buy a glass eye to being involved in a program with an over, marketable character over HIS BELT, that he will inevitably win, and you think he's being buried? wait till he kicks the crop out of him, then you'll see who gets buried. It could also lead to an interesting interaction between the former Legacy team mates once "Dashing" decides that Ted has beaten his brother down enough.

I don't think there's any way other than to sub the Sky Sports package for the entire month if you want to watch on tv - I'm not sure if they take sales calls till this late on a Sunday night though  It may be worth looking into the cost of watching it on WWE's website as that may work out cheaper when taking the exchange rate into consideration. Hope you get something sorted :D
