For some reason my Sky+ Planner changed my recording of Bragging Rights to the repeat on Monday at 9pm. I had to cancel it and change it to the live on at 1am on Sunday Night.
I'm not a fan of the Mysterio mask gimmick (would love someone to unmask him just once in the middle of the ring) but I am full of admiration for the way he puts his body on the line all the time. I am surprised there aren't groups in America complaining about Rey being booked in matches with people 100+ pounRAB heavier than him. He would be nowhere near a ring if WWE was a British company.
If Taker does retire at WM next year, then there are only a couple of people I would love to see him take with him. Vickie Guerrero, Michael Cole and Hornswoggle. I know it is techincally 3 people.
OJ will always be a poor mans Goldust. They haven't got the balls to go all out with him the way Goldust went after Razor back in 1994. Hell, Goldust today is more compelling than OJ.
But thats just my opinion, and I can see where many others would disagree.
And I wont refer to you as a fanboy again as long as you don't act like one
I did point out that it was WMG that made the silly claims about the levels of each companies success. If being the number 2 promotion means weekly TV, house shows, and a bit of a profit, then good for them. No need to act differently. Their obsession with WWE (although not as bad as it used to be) will always hurt them though. WCW and WWF were both at their best when they ignored what the other was doing and just did what they did best - Cruisers in WCW etc, Story line development in WWF (WCW had a great idea in the nWo, they just didnt know what to do with it).
Oh come on. How many years has he been working through injuries now? If he took the time off for those surgeries he neeRAB i would have more respect for him. He's past his prime and is becoming a caricature of himself.
You are right though, i am in the minority and there are a lot of people who do enjoy watching him. Over 10 million infact in Mexico alone watch Smackdown each week. That is the real reason he is on Smackdown. I just can't get my head round it. Some places i go online and their moaning about chair shots and things that shouldn't happen in wrestling yet they actively support someone who is constantly wrestling through injuries.
It's good that they are bringing the King of the Ring back, although I would rather it be a PPV rather than on Raw where the matches will most likely be rushed.
Maybe they could make it mean something by offering the winner a title shot at TLC or the Royal Rumble.
The adverts for the UK wwe events have kinda spoiled the main match I was looking forward to, but I'll probably watch Bragging Rights anyway to see what goes down. And, yes, it is free after all.
But if he wants to work through injuries how does it affect you!? That's what I don't understand.
He is still performing in fantastic matches and entertaining the vast majority of people who watch Smackdown!. What's the problem? If he gets injured and has to take a year or two off or is forced to retire then so be it that is his prerogative but he is choosing to tough it out and respect to him for that.
I never find that boring at all. I love it when he shows off. Its great to see the audience reaction.
Its the same as the other week when Kane was doing a promo next to the audience and this poor kid looked seriously worried.
I don't like Nexus at all, they've spoilt it for me.
