Wizard ranks top 100 cartoons?

Well, let?s see here.

1. The Simpsons
I guess so. It?s been around for a log time, and it?s still pretty good.

8. Johnny Quest
That was a good show. My dad sometimes tells me about when he used to watch it.

17. South Park
I thought this might be in the top 10. It?s funny, relevant, and it?s been around for awhile.

20. Spongbob Squarepants
This is about right.

32. Family Guy
This one should at least be top 15, maybe even top 10. I don?t really understand this one.

39. Scooby-Doo
Are you kidding me, Scooby-Doo is a classic. This one has to at least be in the top 5. In my opinion, Scooby-Doo would be #1.

50. DBZ
58. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
89. Sailor Moon
All these should be higher

And you know what I?m going to complain about next?
Pokemon?
Hello, everyone (and I mean everyone) knows about this series, whether they liked it or not. It had a profound effect on 4th graders around the country when it first came out, and it spread like wildfire. And it still it running strong after 500+ episodes. This would have been a top 10 for me as well.

The anime titles seemed to be only there to add some anime. I see no reason why shows like Voltron and Wing should be on that list when there's so much better mecha anime out there.

Then again, its all up to personal opinion.

Wow, you're on a retro cartoon board and have NEVER heard of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors??? It's an awesome (albeit underrated) cartoon from 1985, that TOTALLY deserves a place on that list. Unfortunately, 1985 was a rather "crowded" year for cartoons and it kinda got buried under the competition at the time.

Here's the wikipedia page for the show, which features lots of info about it (and pics):

It's worthy to note that Joe Michael Straczynski, creator of Babylon 5, was one of the main writers for the show. As such, the calibre of the scriptwriting was often better than what you would typically see on shows from that period.

Despite having low ratings when it was originally on, the show has since gained something of a cult following. Enough so that the first 33 episodes were just released on DVD by Shout Factory, with a second set containing the remaining 32 episodes hopefully coming out by the end of this year. But it really hinges on the sales of the first volume, so if ANYONE reading this is a fan, I urge you to buy this DVD set!

Hope that sheds some light on this gem of a show for ya.

Spongebob had a bigger impact on the animation world by lowering the bar on our expectations for animation quality.

I guess some people don't get elevated speech.
