Willy wonker is fit

Oh yeah i remember-when they were going up in the lift and they waved to her! It was sweet the way Willie waved. Oh ay, I bet she's knocking 'em out left, right and centre like theres no tomorrow! :D :D Imagin a baby oompa lumpa-that'd be scary!

I have to agree with RonnieL. I would not say that Depp was ugly-- but he was not the WW that I think Dahl created. The whole point of the golden ticket contest was because WW was getting old and thus needed to find an heir. Gene Wilder was an amusing WW, Depp was just wrong; IMHO.

All the back story was out and out weird and had nothing to do with the book whatsoever.

The part of the film that *totally* lost it for me was when the OAP grand-dad was in bed talking about candy. Then grand-dad tells Charlie to go get the mud off his pants-- in referring to his *trousers*. That was just friggin' annoying.

I *love* Rahl Dahl's books. Perhaps if you love Depp and Burton than this is a great film for you. But as far as a great adaptation of a book-- it sucked horribly. Even if you use the American book version of Charlie & the Choclate Factory the film still falls terribly short.

Frazzle have fun with your Depp fanatasy. I had a huge crush on Rick Derringer when I was your age. Everyone neeRAB someone to lust after, sometimes. :p

Hi Frazzles it is so nice to be able to come and post on a non bitching, light hearted thread. Ive nearly burst a blood vessel in my eye arguing with some prat on here today.

Anyway just wanted to say that I could of really done with a hand with the lawn from that mate of your Edward :) :)[/QUOTE]

Oh no you've been banned! :   Aaah that's a shame we had a right laugh on here, didn't we, Beth? Nevermind you can still read it, just means you can't reply to the posts

I too found him worryingly attractive

It was his eyes. He had a way off looking everyso often which was a cross between norman bates and something very sexy indeed...

Well don't come on this thread if you don't like what you read! Seriously though, I happen to think it was the perfect adaptation of the book and Johnny was perfect as Wonka. Roald Dahl's widow was the executive producer on it. Still everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Oh and thanx for your last comment-I intend to! I have a gorgeous boyfriend, who I often fantasise about dressed in the Wonka gear!Woops a bit too much information there! He looks a bit like Johnny too. Only who's Rick Derringer?

I use to think Mr Depp was just simply the sexiest man on earth... closely followed by Eric Bana, but as soon as I saw the trailer for Willy Wonka... well lets say it just ruined it. He looks so creepy and mangley and just...ugh makes me shudder thinking about it. Those children shouldnt be allowed near him, his name should be put on a list and sounded out.

...though watching POTC makes it all better again.

Cool! Yeah, you're right, it probably will be out at Christmas -imagin him in your stocking aahh! Oh I think Johnny will always be playing eccentric characters.
