a rich galaxy full of pickings from which to craft fantastic stories, characters and tales for TV and Cinema, and the lasting image is of some crap teddy bears in the wood overthrowing the might of the Galactic Empire
Lucas doesn't do things for the money (he makes so much of it, he's allowed to be picky), so unless there is an overwhelming demand for a sequel trilogy, it's unlikely they'll be made anytime soon. There's big demand for Star Wars on television and in gaming, hence why they're pushing in those directions.
For those of you asking, here's the latest on the live-action series:
They'll start production next year for a 2012 launch (remember, there will be intensive post-production work, and Lucas wants to shoot all 100 in one production block, as opposed to seasons).
In short, no, the focus now is to make the live action TV series set between Episodes III and IV which I am soooo excited about but I'd wish they'd hurry the F up!
Who's to say they won't feature flashbacks or flashforwarRAB to post Jedi and pre Menace...the idea is to get the series off the ground and then have a whole load of spin oRAB, focusing on different extended universe Characters. The more known movie characters are not expected to feature, except maybe for a cameo here and there. Hayden Christiansen, Ewan McGregor and Ian McDiarmid have al expressed an interest in making appearances.
my uni room mate wa sstar wars mad, he said han solo and leah have 2 kiRAB and luke becomes a master teaching young padewans in the official canon story
he didnt think it was worth making a film out of it
