Hi! I'm a sophomore, and I recently got back my AP score! Unfortunately, I received a 2! :( I'm very very sad about that! So I was wondering if i got 3.8s for both semesters of freshmen year and 3.5 and a 3.75 for my sophomore year , would that affect me of getting into colleges like UCs or Boston University?

Likely, no. Generally, colleges look at AP scores only to determine whether a student should receive credit for the class that the AP test covered. For example, I took AP Psychology in high school and received a 5 on the test. I got credit for the basic psychology class offered at my university. That's the primary use that most colleges place on AP scores. The grade you got in the corresponding class is more important in terms of acceptance decisions.

I got a 1 on my French AP test and a 3 on my English test, those scores did not adversely affect my ability to get accepted into good schools, including Notre Dame.

nah its fine, the ap test is for credit, but its not really used to evaluate your college potential. Your grade in the class itself is though so if your score is used as a measure for your grade there could be a problem. Note that since you apply for colleges senior year, your most important year is junior year since thats the last one colleges will look at so keep that gpa up, and yes that gpa is fine, also your sat and act score will figure in heavily.

You don't have to show your AP scores to colleges when you apply - typically, they're used for placement once you get in. You can choose to show your scores for your other AP tests later on if you want to, but they won't likely have much of an impact on your application at all. What's important about APs for admissions is how many you take rather than what you score.
