FYRE & REIGN RETURNS

Birds of a feather flock together. My mother was born and raised in Mexico but spent the first 26 years of her married life in Kansas were we Hispanics were a definite minority. After moving to New Mexico, she felt much more comfortable since we have Spanish language TV stations and periodicals. Most doctor's offices and stores have at least some Spanish speaking employees.
Don't get me wrong, Mom does speak English but it's just easier to speak to someone in your own language and, at times, important such as when trying to explain symptoms.
I like the cultural diversity that comes from folks being around their own in big cities. I have fond memories of being in New York City and eating in "Little Italy" or "Chinatown" areas. It's good for them to keep their traditions alive as long as they understand that they have to conform to American laws and values. (e.g. no multiple spouses for Mormons)
